Pairs always seem to get inexplicably separated, with random odd socks turning up without their matching partner.

So where do these missing socks go?

Well, once again, Twitter may have come up with the answer...

Social media user, Danielle Carr, may have solved the missing sock conundrum after she discovered a secret filter in her tumble dryer. She posted her find online:

"My tumble dryer wasn't working very well," Danielle told Mirror Online. "So I checked the filter in the inside – there's a little drop-down bit in the bottom. But on the outside, I saw a button I hadn't noticed before, and it opened up a second filter. I had a look.

"I thought it was fluff at first, but then I pulled it out and it was a sock. Then I found another one, and another.

"I had to stop because my baby woke up for feeding. But when I put him down again I'm going to go and find more socks. There's bound to be loads."

Danielle and her family use a Bloomberg machine. You may want to check your own tumble dryer for a hidden second filter – you could finally match up all your odd pairs!
