Now, a professor at Stanford University in America, has found that using the right language can actually make us more successful, reports the Independent

Bernard Roth, a professor of engineering at Stanford and the academic director of Stanford's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, the d.school, has written a book, 'The Achievement Habit', in which he lists a number of linguistic tweaks that can be made to our vocabulary to help us more easily reach our goals.

Woman Jokes She Wants To 'Shoot' Friend Over Baby Name Choice, Sparks Online Debate A woman has sparked a baby name debate online after jokingly claiming she wants to “shoot” her friend for the name he gave his daughter. The woman said her friend had called his baby Tinkerbell and, although she knows it’s none of her business, she disagrees with his decision.

These two traits are more important than good looks when it comes to attraction. How to make a graceful exit from your job. Ben from 'Friends' is a successful fashion photographer now. Last minute summer holiday buys from Balenciaga, Fendi, Missoni and more .

Take note of these words to remove from your vocabulary . I’m learning is a much more empowering phrase that let’s you know you are aware of the current results “I want to be successful in life, but…” It is all about approach. Like I have always heard in my life,”fake it til you make it.”

Two of the simplest switches include replacing 'but' for 'and,' and swapping 'have to' for 'want to.'

To demonstrate how the first switch works, Roth lists the example, 'I want to go to the movies but I have work to do', and suggests we replace the phrase with, 'I want to go to the movies and I have work to do'.

Why? Because, according to Roth, 'When you use the word "but", you create a conflict (and sometimes a reason) for yourself that does not really exist.' If you replace "but" with "and", you are telling yourself you can do both, you just need to work out how.

In the case of swapping 'have to' with 'want to', Roth explains, 'This exercise is very effective in getting people to realise that what they do in their lives – even the things they find unpleasant – are in fact what they have chosen.'

What Are Cholesterol Deposits—and How Can You Remove Them? As you get older, you might notice yellowish patches forming around your eyes. Those bumps are actually cholesterol deposits known as xanthelasma and could be a sign that your health is at risk.Doctors believe xanthelasma shows up when the connection between certain cells inside your capillaries breaks. When that happens, cholesterol can seep out of the blood and into the skin area, where it forms those raised patches, says Adam Scheiner, MD, laser eyelid and facial cosmetic surgeon in Tampa, Florida.

With that being said, I suggest you to emanate these 2 phrases in your vocabulary When we say “just a”, we actually limit ourselves to becoming more successful and at the same time These two are very common to anyone. I think we all should know too how to at least avoid negative vibes.

× A Stanford professor says eliminating 2 phrases from your vocabulary can make you more successful . In his new book, "The Achievement Habit," Roth suggests several linguistic tweaks that can make you more successful . Here are two of the easiest

A simple, 'I want to go to work today', instead of, 'I have to go to work today', is guaranteed to put you in a better frame of mind to start your working day.

Roth's theories are based on a problem-solving strategy known as 'Design Thinking,' where you challenge your automatic thinking in order to see things more clearly.

The result is likely to be that a problem isn't as unsolvable as it seems, and that you have more control over your life than you might have thought.
