The Virgin mogul joined regular One Show presenter Matt Baker and fill-in Angela Scanlon to talk about his aid work in Puerto Rico and his contentious history with Donald Trump, but it was his send-off that got the most attention.

On the show with Richard was Strictly Come Dancing's Susan Calman, who was chatting about her routine for this weekend when Richard suddenly started showing off his own dance moves by leaping onto the table separating the presenters and guests.

"Table-dancing I'm good at," he admitted. "All our tables at [the Island of Necker are made for dancing."

As Richard mimed surfing on the furniture, a befuddled-but-chuckling Matt Baker and Angela Scanlon quickly wrapped up the half-hour - leaving a table-surfing Richard Branson as the show's last image of the night.

When he wasn't table-dancing, Richard opened up about a bizarre encounter he'd once had with Donald Trump years before Trump became America's president.

"He had a lunch with me and he said that there were five people in his life who had crossed him, and that he was going to spend the rest of his life destroying them," Branson remembered.

"And I just said to him that I thought it would eat him up, it wouldn't be be constructive. [These people] hadn't done anything bad. They just hadn't given him money when he was last bankrupt."

Unfortunately for Richard, Trump later branded the Virgin boss a "failure" when Branson's reality competition The Rebel Billionaire was dropped after just one series.

"When I did a TV show, which was quite fun, it was an adventurous show where we went around the world with young kids putting them through adventures," Richard explained.

"It was a show that was slightly different to The Apprentice, but he saw it as a bit of a rival and he let loose."

Let's hope Trump wasn't watching tonight, or he might unleash nuclear war on Broadcasting House.

Walter Mazzarri eyed by both West Ham and Everton .
While Slaven Bilic seemingly has the backing of both David Gold and David Sullivan for the time being at West Ham, the club hierarchy are still doing some due diligence on potential replacements for the Croat. With his contract up at the end of the season and no decision made on whether the club will stand by their former defender, the Hammers continue to be linked with replacing Bilic in the not too distant future. One man who is apparently on the club’s radar is Walter Mazzarri, who remains out of work after leaving Watford at the end of last season. The former Inter Milan boss successfully guided Watford to Premier League safety last season but as part of the club’s philosophy to chop and change their managers, the Italian was given the boot after just one year in charge. Mazzarri still lives in London and would be open to another bite at the Premier League cherry, but West Ham could face competition from Everton for him as they eye the experienced coach as a potential replacement for the under-fire Ronald Koeman.
