Arsenal consider move to re-sign Oguzhan Ozyakup

Arsenal consider move to re-sign Oguzhan Ozyakup As we saw with Cesc Fabregas and possibly even Hector Bellerin if not this summer then perhaps down the line, Arsenal have been bitten by clubs looking to re-sign their former prodigies, but could the Gunners be about to do it themselves? According to Turkish-Football, Arsenal are one of three Premier League clubs that are reportedly interested in signing Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup this summer. Ozyakup joined Arsenal in 2008 from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar and spent four years on the books at the Emirates, making just two senior appearances before returning to his homeland of Turkey with Besiktas for just £425,000. The 24-year-old has won three Super Lig titles during his five years at Besiktas, scoring 27 goals and providing 42 assists in 182 appearances across all competitions. With only 12 months to run on his contract, it’s believed that while there’s a long-term extension on the table from Besiktas, they will consider bids in the region of £13m for the central midfielder. Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham are also said to be keen, while West Ham and former Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic are linked as well.

The Frenchman is likely to remain under heavy pressure to deliver, despite having agreed a new two-year contract at Emirates Stadium amid calls from some supporters for the 67-year-old to step down.
