Southampton confirm retained list

Southampton confirm retained list The Premier League have today confirmed all 20 teams’ retained lists, including Southampton’s ahead of the 2017/18 season. Saints had already confirmed who they had released at the end of the season back in May, and four players have departed the club. The quartet of Martin Caceres, Cuco Martina, Lloyd Isgrove and Harley Willard will move on to seek pastures new, but some surprises appear to have been sprung in the PL’s confirmed list for Saints. The standard first team squad have all been retained as expected, but it’s claimed that Stuart Taylor, who has played absolutely no part for Saints since signing, has been offered a new contract. He was due to depart the club this summer having only signed a one-year deal in 2016, but it looks as though he has been given the chance to stay. Jason McCarthy’s deal was set to expire this summer but it’s stated that he’s been kept on by Saints. However, it doesn’t actually state that he’s been offered a new deal, so this may be one to keep an eye on.
