Lyon in advanced talks to sign West Ham target Traore

Lyon in advanced talks to sign West Ham target Traore West Ham’s search for a new striker has taken them to Stamford Bridge where three of their forwards are believed to be on our radar. While a loan move for Tammy Abraham remains unlikely, both Michy Batshuayi and Bertrand Traore are much more realistic targets of ours. It was claimed recently that the Hammers had lodged a bid to sign Traore this summer off the back of an impressive loan spell at Ajax last season where he scored 13 goals in all competitions playing primarily from a wide forward position. Everton, Lille, Borussia Monchengladbach and Schalke had all been linked with a move for the Burkina Faso international but L’Equipe (h/t GFFN) have claimed that Lyon are in advanced talks with Chelsea for his transfer. The Ligue 1 side are confident that they will agree personal terms with the striker by the end of the week which will speed up the transfer. Chelsea and Lyon are currently discussing the structure of the deal which is expected to be ironed out. Traore is said to be available for £17.5m but a move to West Ham is looking increasingly unlikely.

And more good news today is that we are being linked with a strong move for Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar, with the news Newcastle are in advanced talks for the 25 year-old 57 times capped Cameroon International (17 goals).

Newly-promoted Newcastle are reportedly in advanced talks with Porto, in a deal that would see Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar join the North-East side.

The Magpies are said to have wanted Aboubakar back in 2014 but their bid to sign him failed, and now this could be their moment.

It is also reported by Futbol Arena that Turkish champions Besiktas hold strong interest in the player, however their chances of signing him have been dashed, as Newcastle have entered into advanced talks with the 25-year-old.

The Cameroon talisman actually spent last season on-loan in Turkey with Besiktas, helping them win another league title by netting 17 goals in all competitions.

He also scored the winner for Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations final, and will represent the African side at this summer’s Confederations Cup held in Russia.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has made reinforcing his attack a main priority this summer, and signing the powerful Aboubakar would certainly be a step in the right direction, whilst potentially signalling the end of Aleksandar Mitrovic’s time at St James’ Park.

Armstrong lined up for Championship loan .
Newcastle forward Adam Armstrong is being lined up for a move back to the Championship, with Bolton Wanderers interested. A report from the Newcastle Chronicle implies that the young striker is to be handed some experience elsewhere for the start of next season, with Bolton having expressed an interest. Given the attacking options at Rafa Benitez has at his disposal, it’s hard to see where Armstrong fits in ahead of next season. The Magpies have also been heavily linked with a number of strikers over the last couple of months. The England Under-20 international undoubtedly has potential and could very well turn out to be a key player for Newcastle, but it’s looking more likely that he’ll be better suited to a lower division while he develops. Armstrong’s representatives are reportedly actively looking for a move for their client, as he looks to continue his development and push on while out on loan.
