Former Redskins RB Clinton Portis says financial ruin almost led him to murder After he was financially betrayed, Portis said he waited with a loaded gun for the person he says did it.The former Redskins running back had spent lavishly on houses, cars and insane trips, footing the bills for others, too. However, he also trusted his money to the wrong men, which resulted in his investments going down the toilet, Portis told Sports Illustrated.

The UFC makes up for a week off by running back-to-back events this Friday and Saturday night.

First up on the calendar is the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 25, headlined by an excellent lightweight bout between Michael Johnson and Justin Gaethje while in the co-main event either Dhiego Lima or Jesse Taylor will receive their ‘redemption’ after running the tournament gauntlet.

As for the predictions, back to back 100% weeks have been scored so hopefully I can do the unprecedented and go for three consecutive perfect scores.

Michael Johnson (17-11) vs Justin Gaethje (17-0)

Stylistically, the UFC has thrown Justin Gaethje into the deep-end here.

Johnson is fast, rangy and packs some power behind his punches which will no doubt find their target against Gaethje’s unconcerned defence. Johnson will also be the most talented opponent in Gaethje’s career thus far and it’s unknown at this stage just how talented the former WSOF champion truly is.

With that being said, Johnson has shown a propensity for being dragged into a dogfight and that is where Gaethje shines. If Gaethje can provoke Johnson into trading leather consistently either in the clinch or in the pocket, he can score a massive debut win.

It’s a tough call but I can’t see Johnson staying out of danger for five rounds despite his stylistic advantages.

Preview: Brewers vs. Orioles

Preview: Brewers vs. Orioles Brewers left-hander Brent Suter gets a spot start Monday when Milwaukee opens a three-game interleague series against the Baltimore Orioles at Miller Park.Suter (0-1, 4.20 ERA) replaces right-hander Chase Anderson, who was lost for four to six weeks when he strained an oblique muscle in the first inning of his last start, costing the Brewers their best and most consistent starter this season. The Brewers do have their top pitching prospect, lefty Josh Hader, up at the big league level, but manager Craig Counsell said the team wants to leave him in a relief role for now.

Pick: Justin Gaethje

Dhiego Lima (12-5) vs Jesse Taylor (30-15)

It’s surprising not to see James Krause in the final fight, the actual best fighter on the show, but some fighters aren’t suited to the tournament format. The one fighter who definitely is though is Jesse Taylor due to his physicality and heavy top grappling.

While Taylor lacks submission defence, 14 of his 15 losses have come via submission, he wears heavy on top of his opponent and has the gas tank to pepper away with busy ground and pound.

The problem for Taylor will be getting Lima to the mat as he has strong takedown defence and Lima unquestionably has the better striking but over three rounds, Taylor will surely secure the takedown at some point and drag the younger Lima brother into his tiring fight style.

Pick: Jesse Taylor

Marc Diakiese (12-0) vs Drakkar Klose (7-0-1)

Diakiese is one of the lightweight division’s brightest prospects and I fully expect him to get the win here.

The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale Results: Johnson vs Gaethje

The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale Results: Johnson vs Gaethje Take a bow Michael Johnson and Justin Gaethje. In what must surely be crowned fight of the year, Justin Gaethje made a stunning UFC debut by extending his unbeaten record to 18-0 with a second round TKO victory over the #5 ranked Michael Johnson. Both men battered each other from pillar to post with Gaethje sustaining most of the damage but the former WSOF champion’s gritty style endured two major scares before a uppercut to Johnson’s chin spelt the beginning of the end. Meanwhile in the co-main event, Jesse Taylor earned his redemption as he quickly took Dhiego Lima’s back after being rocked by a punch in the opening seconds of round two and scored a rear naked choke submission. Main Card Justin Gaethje def. Michael Johnson via TKO (Round 2, 0:43) Jesse Taylor def. Dhiego Lima via submission (rear-naked choke) (Round 2, 0:43 ) Drakkar Klose def. Marc Diakiese via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Jared Cannonier def. Nick Roehrick via TKO (Round 3, 2:08 ) Brad Tavares def. Klose has a fair amount of potential himself and is strong in the clinch but Diakiese’s timing and power is incredible for his young age and fighting out of American Top Team will no doubt continue his growth as a fighter.

Pick: Marc Diakiese

Jared Cannonier (9-2) vs Nick Roehrick (7-0)

Roehrick comes into this bout on extremely short notice and despite being a bright prospect, Cannonier has a full fight camp behind him and has recently devoted all of his time to the sport. Picking a short notice replacement is never a strong choice.

Pick: Jared Cannonier

Brad Tavares (14-4) vs Elias Theodorou (13-1)

Theodorou’s gameplan never really changes and he will undoubtedly come to fight with his kicks in high volume then try and dominate the clinch when the distance is broken.

Tavares meanwhile is a tidy striker with both his hands and legs but lacks any real outstanding qualities.

It could very well be a three-round slog but I’ll just side with Theodorou based on recent form.

Pick: Elias Theodorou

Jordan Johnson (7-0) vs Marcel Fortuna (9-1)

Johnson is a great wrestler with a sturdy chin and is the bigger of the two men physically.

Fortuna though has big power and knocked out Anthony Hamilton at heavyweight. Now he’s at light heavyweight, I expect Fortuna to come up big again if he can avoid the ground game of Johnson.

Pick: Marcel Fortuna

UFC Fight 113: Preview and Predictions .
After the grandiose feel around last weekends ‘International Fight Week’ double header, the UFC takes a demure step back this Sunday with a return to Glasgow, Scotland. As opposed to a planned double championship main and co-main event, UFC Fight Night 113 will instead feature two of the U.K’s most cherished fighters in testing circumstances. In the headline act, Gunnar Nelson will be hoping to ascend the welterweight rankings at the expense of the talented Argentinian striker Santiago Ponzinibbio. Nelson is currently on a two fight win streak since losing to the number one contender Demian Maia while Ponzinibbio is on a four fight win streak and has only lost to ranked opponents in his UFC tenure. In the co-main event, Muay Thai and Kickboxing specialist Joanne Calderwood will receive a hero’s welcome as she takes on the strawweight division’s rising star Cynthia Calvillo. Calderwood will fight for the first time since a losing effort at UFC 203 while Calvillo has carved her way through two opponents in her brief UFC stint with a pair of rear-naked chokes. Elsewhere, Scotsmen Stevie Ray and Paul Craig will battle Paul Felder and Khalil Rountree respectively on the main card while Neil Seery will bow out of the sport as he takes on Alexandre Pantoja on the preliminary card. Gunnar Nelson (16-2-1) vs Santiago Ponzinibbio (24-3) Nelson and Ponzinibbio are polar opposites when it comes to fighting styles.
