Newcastle in talks to sign Correa

Newcastle in talks to sign Correa Newcastle are in talks to sign Atletico Madrid striker Angel Correa, according to the Newcastle Chronicle. The report claims that the Newcastle board are in talks to sign Correa, along with Arsenal striker Lucas Perez. Rafa Benetiz is keen to strengthen his attacking options and is interested in bringing the Atletico forward to the Premier League. Although, a deal is not far down the line, with Correa featuring for Madrid in their Audi Cup final against Liverpool at the time of writing. The 22-year-old has played 58 league matches for Atletico since joining the club in 2014 from San Lorenzo. The forward has only netted nine times in those 58 games, but has operated in a number of positions – including out wide and in midfield. If the club are unable to secure a deal for the Argentine international, Arsenal striker Lucas Perez appears to be there other option.

The Premier League club's scouts have been impressed by the teenager and he is expected to link up with Nicky Butt's Under-23 squad.

West Ham frustrated over Carvalho deal .
West Ham are reportedly growing frustrated over their potential deal to sign Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho. According to a report from the Telegraph, the two clubs are at a stalemate over the asking price for the Portuguese international. The Hammers have lodged a £29.1m offer along with £4.55m in additional bonuses. However, Sporting are thought to be demanding a fee of £34.6m, along with the extra £4.55m in add-ons. The deal would make Carvalho the club’s record signing but it looks as though the Hammers will need to negotiate the deal further, with Sporting holding their key man to an extortionate price tag. Carvalho, 25, is claimed to be keen on joining West Ham this month, with him keen to achieve his ambition of playing in the Premier League. The Hammers have been busy in the summer transfer window, and it looks as though there is still work to be done with the deal for Carvalho.
