Liverpool offer €17m for midfielder Benjamin Andre

Liverpool offer €17m for midfielder Benjamin Andre Liverpool have made a surprise €17m bid for Rennes midfielder Benjamin Andre as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to add midfield reinforcements before the start of the new season, according to a report from French news outlet Le Telegramme The Reds are ready to bolster their midfield with Andre and according to the Express, he is Klopp’s preferred replacement for the departed Lucas Leiva. The news of the bid was first told by Le Telegramme who said that Liverpool had been eyeing up a move for the 26-year-old and are now ready to open official negotiations to sign the player. Klopp’s main transfer target this summer was Naby Keita, who they failed to sign as his club RB Leipzig refused to sell him no matter what sum of money was offered. So Klopp has turned his attention to Andre, who is a short-term and cheaper option who will provide cover and support to the Liverpool midfield. Klopp is also wary that Emre Can only had one more year remaining on his contract and is aware that he may not sign an extension, therefore bringing in Andre would not leave them short in midfield if Can was to leave. The Reds are hoping that the deal is secured quickly without any problems so Andre can begin working with his new team-mates.

Draymond Green , Andre Iguodala . by Adam Spencer. “But Draymond does a great job of knocking you off your game,” Iguodala added, “so you won’ t play well with him.” Iguodala called Green the worst golfer on the Warriors, which isn' t surprising considering his comments about Green 's skills

Warriors forward Draymond Green is a great all-around basketball player. He just isn't good at any other sports, according to his teammate Andre Iguodala.

Green may have all of the skills to succeed in football – he can run, he can catch, he has size, it's just that he can't throw a football or do much else on the field. He also can't throw a baseball, and he's a horrible golfer.

Iguodala's words, not ours.

"He's up there with the smartest basketball players and the game comes so easy to him so you would think he's athletic," Iguodala said while helping out with TNT's coverage of the PGA Championship on Saturday afternoon (via TheScore.com). "But like if you watch him throw a football it's like, he played tight end but he can't throw a football. And he can't hit a baseball, he whacks at a baseball like ... any other sport, it just doesn't transfer for him."

Good thing Green's skill set is more than enough to make him millions upon millions of dollars playing basketball. He averaged 10.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists for the Warriors this past season, helping the team to its second NBA title in three years, so it doesn't matter if he can't hit a 9 iron. He's pretty set for life.

Just don't expect him to pull a Michael Jordan and attempt a second career with the Lancaster Jethawks because the man is not a multi-sport athlete.
