With the 2016/17 season in the books, teams are now beginning to look ahead to next season and the first part of that is getting their summer recruitment right.

How proposed transfer window changes would affect Swans' .
Clubs in the Premier League have started discussions over the time at which the transfer window will close. The window currently closes on 31 August, but managers including Jurgen Klopp and our very own Paul Clement have made it clear that they would rather it closed before the start of the Premier League season. A vote on the matter will take place at the next shareholders meeting early next month. Talks come after weeks of complications with various players throughout the Premier League, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Philippe Coutinho both absent on the opening day of the season due to transfer speculation. Closer to home, the Swans have experienced the same with last season’s star man Gylfi Sigurdsson, who’d proposed £50m transfer to Everton has been on the cards for close enough to a month. Paul Clement spoke out after a goalless draw at Southampton – in which the Swans looked toothless to say the least – claiming that the ongoing ‘Sigurdsson-saga’ could see the club leaving it until deadline day to complete their transfer business. Clement said: “For me, I want players in as soon as possible but the reality is it could go to the last day in terms of ‘ins” It’s not an ideal scenario for the Swans, who despite the signings of £12m midfielder Roque Mesa and loanee Tammy Abraham, still have plenty of work to do to avoid another relegation scrap this season.
