De Boer accepts need to alter tactics

De Boer accepts need to alter tactics Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer has accepted that he must alter his tactics if he is to remain in charge of the club, according to the Independent. The Dutchman has suffered a difficult start to life in England. Expectations were high upon his arrival in South London, but he is yet to oversee his Palace side win a game. The Eagles currently sit second bottom on the Premier League table, having lost all three of their games so far against Huddersfield, Liverpool and Swansea. De Boer’s tactics have come under fire because of these consecutive losses, and this has led to speculation that he could be set for an early exit. However, it’s claimed in the report that while a decision is yet to be made on his future, De Boer is now willing to compromise himself to change his tactical approach, which he has stuck to for many years now. Crystal Palace take on Burnley away from home next Sunday.

Palace’s search for their first Premier League point and goal of the campaign extended, as the Eagles lost 1-0 to an early Chris Wood strike.

A horrific, 50-yard back pass from Chung-yong Lee gifted Burnley the opener and despite Palace dominating possession, territory and chances throughout the remainder of the game, they simply couldn’t find a way to score a goal.

Why do we keep making individual errors? Should de Boer have been given more time? Why can’t we score?

VIDEO REVIEW | Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Town .
In this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast, I review the game against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup by giving you my match review, player rankings as well as my Man of the Match. Roy Hodgson celebrated his first win as Eagles manager against Huddersfield Town as Bakary Sako’s goal was enough to advance to the fourth round. Palace played without a recognised striker but Sako, playing as a makeshift striker, netted from an Andros Townsend corner on 12 minutes to claim a morale-boosting victory in front of the home fans. How important will Mamadou Sakho be? Should Luka and Riedewald start in midfield together? Will Hodgson keep us up? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast.
