Oliver Burke limps out of Under 23s game

Oliver Burke limps out of Under 23s game Scottish winger Oliver Burke has limped out of West Brom’s U23 clash with Brighton after just 18 minutes. Burke, who was in action to get some more game time, was forced off early with an apparent injury, although it is unclear exactly what the problem was at this time. The 20-year-old winger now looks to be a doubt for Albion’s clash with West Ham on Saturday, although he could have been substituted purely as a precaution. Some better news from the game for West Brom was the return to action of veteran defender Gareth McAuley, who completed 45 minutes on his return from a thigh injury which he suffered whilst on international duty for Northern Ireland during the summer. Two other members of Albion’s squad, Claudio Yacob and Sam Field, also featured in the game, which West Brom won 5-1.

Norwich were left frustrated on Tuesday night as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Burton Albion.

The Canaries struggled to find a way past the side who had conceded five goals to Leeds on Saturday.

The best chance of the game came midway into the second half. Wes Hoolahan slipped Josh Murphy through on goal but the winger saw his shot saved by Stephen Bywater.

Despite the lack of goals, Norwich have now kept three league clean sheets in-a-row at Carrow Road – a stat that bodes well for the club’s defensive woes.

The club have kept two clean sheets in two games since Timm Klose has returned from injury.

Picking a man of the match has been fairly easy, with one man really standing out for me.

Our Norwich man of the match against Burton is… Timm Klose!

Klose has now won our man of the match award in both of his appearances this season, after picking up the award against Birmingham on Saturday.

He was superb in the air and made some important interceptions and tackles to deny Burton any chances on goal.

Norwich missed his strength and leadership at the back during the start of the season. If he can stay fit, the club have a real chance this season.

Lukaku urges United fans to move on from controversial chant .
Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has urged the club’s fans to move on from their controversial chant for him. Much has been made in recent times about the chant that United fans had created for their new powerful striker, with allegations of racism having been made specifically from footballing initiative Kick It Out. The song referenced the size of Lukaku’s manhood, which many believed to be related to racial stereotypes. Although the Belgian striker is evidently delighted with the way in which United’s fans have taken to him at the club, he has admitted that he’d like them to put the controversial chant behind them. Twitter: Romelu: “Great backing since I joined #MUFC. Fans have meant well with their songs but let’s move on together. #RespectEachOther” (@ManUtd) Lukaku has been excellent since completing a big-money move from Everton in the summer. He’s been a talisman for United and has spearheaded what has been an electrifying strike-force. Jose Mourinho will be hoping that the striker can continue his form against Southampton on Saturday in United’s next Premier League fixture.
