Norwich player ratings: Middlesbrough (A) Norwich City broke a club record on Tuesday night as they beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at The Riverside. The Canaries kept their fifth clean sheet in succession in the Championship, a feat that has never been managed before in the history of the club – in any division. Daniel Farke also becomes the first away boss to win at Middlesbrough in the Championship since January 2016. James Maddison’s wonderful goal in the 13th minute was enough to secure all three points for Norwich. Marley Watkins did brilliantly on the left before finding Maddison in space on the edge of the box – who then curled the ball into the top corner from 22-yards. Angus Gunn preserved Norwich’s win late on as he made a terrific save. Lewis Baker’s free-kick for Middlesbrough took a massive deflection but Gunn reacted superbly to tip the ball over his bar.

A statement from the FAW read: " Marley Watkins has withdrawn from the Wales squad through injury and has been replaced by Barnsley striker Ryan Hedges." Wales were due to fly to Tblisi on Wednesday ahead of Friday's game in Georgia.

" Squad update: Ben Woodburn of Liverpool has withdrawn with a calf injury and is replaced by Marley Watkins of Norwich City," the Football Association of Wales (FAW) tweeted on Thursday morning (8 June).
