The Premier League is back, and so too is Paul Merson's predictions.

The Magic Man returns to cast his eye over the next round of fixtures, which includes Liverpool v Manchester United, live on Sky Sports Premier League, and Manchester City v Stoke and Crystal Palace v Chelsea.

Who is going to come out on top this weekend? Here's who Merson is tipping...

Liverpool v Manchester United - live on Sky Sports Premier League, Saturday from 11.30am

This is a massive game, but I just don't see how Liverpool win without Sadio Mane. I half-fancied them with Mane, but I can't see it now.

Paul Merson completes his round of predictions Merson ' s earlier predictions .. Manchester City v Liverpool - Premier League Live, Saturday.

Paul Merson is back with his predictions PAUL PREDICTS : 3-0 (6/1 with Sky Bet). Merson ' s earlier predictions Huddersfield v Tottenham.

It will be interesting to see how United approach it. You would like to think, with the squad and firepower they have got, that they will have a go. But we have said that before and they have parked the bus, so we will have to see what happens. It's a big game for Romelu Lukaku. Now he is with one of the big boys he has to perform against the big boys.

Manchester United are a better team but Liverpool's home advantage should help them get a draw.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1 (9/2 with Sky Bet)

Burnley v West Ham - Saturday, 3pm

This should be a tight game. I watched West Ham last time out and they were poor, but then Burnley didn't look like scoring in their last home match against Huddersfield.

You watch Burnley away from home and the points they have got from the fixtures they have had is bordering on phenomenal. Manchester United and Manchester City would be more than happy with the points that Burnley have got from their away games. Burnley just need to get a good home run going again like last year.

Paul Merson thinks Andy Carroll should go to the World Cup

Paul Merson thinks Andy Carroll should go to the World Cup England booked their place at the World Cup on Thursday evening after a late Harry Kane goal saw them beat Slovenia 1-0. Now, Paul Merson has provided Sky Sports with the 23-man squad that he believes should be taken to Russia and he has included West Ham’s Andy Carroll in his list of names. Merson knows that not many England fans will agree with his choice of striker, but he believes that Carroll will provide Gareth Southgate with a different option should England be losing a game with just 15-20 minutes to spare. He suggests that if England are desperate for a goal, bringing Carroll, an imposing striker, off the bench will enable England to simply pump the ball up him to see what carnage he can cause. On his day, and when he is fully fit, Carroll has the ability to cause any defence problems, and when it comes to his ability in the air, there are not many who surpass him. You never know, if given the chance, he might just score or set up a goal that keeps England at the World Cup.

After kicking off the new season with seven correct results, Paul Merson is back with his Premier League predictions .

Paul Merson predicts the Premier League action on Sunday and Monday, including Everton v Manchester United Sky Sports pundit Merson takes a look at the fixtures and gives his predictions

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-0 (13/2 with Sky Bet)

Crystal Palace v Chelsea - Saturday, 3pm

This is a hard game for Chelsea without N'Golo Kante or Alvaro Morata. They are two massive players and not having them will make a difference.

But Chelsea still have a good defence and Palace don't have Christian Benteke so it will be hard for them to score. Man City were on fire against Chelsea and still only scored once, and that was a 'worldie', so that is what Palace are up against.

PAUL PREDICTS: 0-1 (5/1 with Sky Bet)

Manchester City v Stoke - Saturday, 3pm

Man City look very good going forward and should win this game quite comfortably. There's always a chance in football but I don't expect Stoke to get anything. Man City have got too much firepower.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0 (6/1 with Sky Bet)

Swansea v Huddersfield - Saturday, 3pm

This is a big game. Huddersfield have hit a bit of a brick wall in terms of scoring goals. They were comfortable at Burnley but never looked like scoring themselves, and you are not going to stay up if you can't score.

'Redknapp tactically better than Wenger'

'Redknapp tactically better than Wenger' If Arsene Wenger had Harry Redknapp’s tactical nous then Arsenal would win the Premier League, according to Paul Merson. The Sky Sports pundit, who played under both men during respective spells at Arsenal and Portsmouth, says he rates Redknapp higher than Wenger when it comes to tactics."People say he's a wheeler-dealer and it's so disrespectful," he said on A League Of Their Own."Tactically, he's one of the best I've worked with. If Arsene Wenger had Harry Redknapp's tactical nous, Arsenal would win the league.

Sky Sports football pundit Paul Merson is back with another round of Premier League predictions . The 'Magic Man' failed to predict a perfect score last week but still got five results correct

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is never afraid of a challenge - so we have asked him I would always rather make a prediction than sit on the fence, but I think this is the hardest ever season to predict .

Swansea aren't pulling up any trees but this is a must-win game for them considering their home form this season. Away from home they have defended quite well but now you have to go and win a match. I think they might just have enough but it will be a hard game.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-0 (9/2 with Sky Bet)

Tottenham v Bournemouth - Saturday, 3pm

I go with Tottenham every week at Wembley and they haven't won yet, but it has to come soon, surely? This is a nice game. Bournemouth are struggling this season and they are not going to boot you off the pitch.

You have to remember that teams going to Wembley pick their game up. You ask any footballer if they could score a hat-trick anywhere they would pick Wembley. It's like a cricketer wanting to score a century in a Test match, they would pick Lord's, or a rugby player scoring a hat-trick of tries, they would pick Twickenham. That's where Wembley is.

Everybody raises their game at Wembley and Spurs need to sort it out. Against Burnley they were 1-0 up and with 20 minutes to go you saw they were getting nervous and in the end Burnley scored.

Wenger blasts Merson after recent comments

Wenger blasts Merson after recent comments Speaking at Thursday’s press conference, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reacted to former player Paul Merson’s comments after he recently said the Gunners could win the league with Harry Redknapp in charge, the Evening Standard report. Appearing on Sky One’s ‘A League of Their Own’, Merson said: “People say he’s a wheeler-dealer and it’s so disrespectful. Tactically, he’s one of the best I’ve worked with. If Arsene Wenger had Harry Redknapp’s tactical nous, Arsenal would win the league.” After hearing what his former player had to say, Wenger didn’t seem to take the comments with a pinch of salt, instead stating in his press conference that he isn’t interested. “These debates that I hear are a joke, a farce. If I really cared, do you think I would have survived for 18 years? I managed Paul Merson, I tried. I’m not interested.” In Wenger’s managerial career, the Frenchman has won an astonishing 22 major honours, while Redknapp has only managed to win six honours. This isn’t the first time Wenger has been blasted by his former player, with the pundit regularly picking faults with his former boss for some time now. The former midfielder has even described the recent Arsenal side as an Under-12’s team, and it looks like the Frenchman has had enough, I’m sure this won’t be the last time we hear about the rift between Wenger and Merson.

Paul Merson ’ s predictions predictions today? Premiership predictions today Sky Sports? Merson picks a draw for Arsenal at United.

Paul Merson is back with his predictions , including Chelsea v Arsenal and Manchester United v Everton. Merson ' s earlier predictions Bournemouth v Brighton.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0 (13/2 with Sky Bet)

Watford v Arsenal - Saturday, 5.30pm

This is a hard game for Arsenal. Watford were outstanding at West Brom. They were 2-0 down and Charlie Nicholas was doing the game on Soccer Saturday and every time they went to him it was Watford attacking.

It would be a big result if Arsenal won here. I know Man City scored six at Watford but Arsenal are not in the same class.

I wouldn't put Mesut Ozil back into the side. He doesn't work hard enough for the team. He is a top player but the least you can do is work hard. If you have got talent you have had a result - and he has talent - but I have seen players with much less talent than him have a bigger impact on games, which can't be right.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2 (7/1 with Sky Bet)

Brighton v Everton - Sunday, 1.30pm

I am not sure Everton players know what they are doing. I just think Ronald Koeman has to let the reins go and tell them to go out and play and express themselves. It looks nervy and nobody looks like they want to take a chance. They are struggling and don't look like they are together.

Koeman is under massive pressure. At the start of the season we were talking about them finishing seventh, maybe sixth, but at the moment that is a distance off after spending a lot of money in the summer.

I think Brighton will win this one.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1 (11/1 with Sky Bet)

Southampton v Newcastle - live on Sky Sports Premier League, Sunday from 3.30pm

Southampton are a funny team who don't score enough goals. I know people will be surprised that I'd say they will win this 2-0 but I just think sooner or later something has to happen and they need to start entertaining otherwise Mauricio Pellegrino is going to be in trouble.

They sacked the last manager because he was not entertaining enough and the new manager is no different so far. Newcastle had a good result against Liverpool but I also look at their last away game when they lost at Brighton.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0 (13/2 with Sky Bet)

Leicester v West Brom - live on Sky Sports Premier League, Monday from 7pm

Leicester have been a bit unlucky this season. They have had some really hard games and they are not as bad as their league position suggests. This will be another tricky one for Leicester but I think it's one they can win.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

WATCH: De Bruyne's sublime assist .
Kevin de Bruyne produced a world-class assist for Leroy Sane's goal, which was the sixth scored by Man City during their 7-2 win against Stoke. The Belgium international produced a dazzling display at the Etihad Stadium, and had already assisted a goal not long before he set up Sane.Collecting the ball in the middle of the park, De Bruyne strode forward before looking up to eye the run of his team-mate towards the back post.He then slid a pin-point cross into Sane's path and the German made no mistake in tapping home at the near post, sending the ball firing under the body of Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland.
