Leeds United eye loan move for Danny Ings

Leeds United eye loan move for Danny Ings Leeds United are interested in taking Liverpool striker Danny Ings on loan when the January transfer window opens, according to reports. The 25-year-old has hardly featured for Liverpool over the last two seasons because of major injuries and now that he’s back fit, his chances of getting any first-team action look to be very limited. Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke are all ahead of Ings in the pecking order and now that the Reds are no longer in the League Cup, opportunities for Ings to get any game time seem to be non-existent. Leeds are desperate to return to the Premier League and they are well aware of Ings’ record in the Championship. Back in 2013/14, the England international scored 21 times for Burnley as they were successfully promoted and Leeds would be delighted if he could have a similar impact there. A loan move for Ings seems to be in the best interests of all parties involved, time will tell if he does move to Elland Road when the window opens in the New Year.

The goalkeeper position has been a problem for Liverpool in the Jurgen Klopp era as their struggling defence continues to make the headlines.

Loris Karius was brought in last summer to compete with and ideally eventually overtake Simon Mignolet as the club’s number one goalkeeper but the German has struggled and repeated made costly errors between the sticks.

For the time being, Mignolet remains the club’s number one and has done fine this season but if Liverpool were offered an upgrade they’d heavily consider one.

One goalkeeper the Reds are supposedly interested in is Inter Milan’s Samir Handanovic.

Barcelona preparing £97m bid for Coutinho in January

Barcelona preparing £97m bid for Coutinho in January According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are preparing a £97m bid for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho in January, as the Brazilian continues to pursue a move to the La Liga side, the Express report. It is believed that Barcelona’s return bid will be identical to the one that got turned down in the summer, with the Spanish giants not willing to meet Liverpool’s demands of £175 million for the 25-year-old, who is under contract with the Reds until June 2022, having signed a new deal in January 2017. Coutinho’s potential move to the Catalan giants was one of the most talked about transfer sagas of the summer, with Barcelona making him their number one target to replace Neymar who was sold to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee. The Brazilian has impressed since his return to the side, with his most recent goal coming in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle, and is believed to be in constant contact with Barca executives and potential new teammates in a hope a move can be agreed.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper is contracted to the Serie A club until the end of the 2018/19 season but he’s revealed that he’s not sure he’ll stay at Inter beyond that.

“I don’t know if I’ll end my career here. My only objective is to play until I am 40, then we’ll see what happen in the future. Now is it time for Inter to step up and make this club return where it belongs. We’ve made some improvements but the next month will be decisive, Inter have done nothing yet.”

The Slovenia international is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe’s top leagues at the moment and would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool side, providing them with a safe and reliable pair of hands in goal.

Williams set for new deal with Bilbao .
Liverpool target Inaki Williams is set for a new deal with his current club Athletic Bilbao. According to Calcio Mercato, Bilbao are set to increase his wage and up his release clause if he is to sign an extended contract. His current release clause is set at €50m, with Bilbao now ready to increase that, potentially in light of recent big money moves in Europe. This summer saw three deals more expensive than the world-record transfer fee coming into the window. Ousmane Dembele, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe all completed moves that will cost over £100m. The report does not, however, mention how much Bilbao will set his new release clause at. Liverpool and Juventus are both said to be keen admirers of the Spanish forward, who has impressed in La Liga. Williams has scored two goals and registered four assists so far this season, with Liverpool monitoring his progress ahead of January.
