Did Kai Havertz visit Melwood ahead of possible summer move?

Did Kai Havertz visit Melwood ahead of possible summer move? Bayer Leverkusen youngster Kai Havertz visited Melwood ahead of a possible move, according to reports, although Rory Smith of The NY Times says that was not the case. Twitter: I’m not a regular, or even a particularly willing, bubble burster, but Kai Havertz didn’t visit Melwood last month. (@RorySmith) Sam McGuire says that Jurgen Klopp, Steven Gerrard and Philippe Coutinho were all in attendance to meet the 18-year-old as the Reds tried to convince him to sign for Liverpool in the summer. It was reported that Leverkusen granted Havertz, dubbed ‘the next Ozil’ permission to visit Liverpool as they have him tied down to a long-term deal and as such, the Reds would have to pay a hefty price in order to sign him. Liverpool’s policy of watching young players across the world to bring them to the club is well documented, so it would make sense for them to be looking at Havertz, although Smith is adamant that the German did not visit Melwood in October.

Juventus opt against Coutinho move .
Italian giants Juventus have opted against making move for Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho. According to Calcio Mercato, Juventus were in the race to sign the playmaker but have now left Barcelona as the frontrunners. Juventus retracting their interest now means that Barcelona have a clear run at Coutinho in the coming transfer windows. Barcelona failed with a number of bids over the summer, with Liverpool adamant that they were not willing to let their most valuable asset leave the club. Coutinho handed in a transfer request amid Barcelona’s interest during the summer but failed to force his way out of the club. The report also claims that Juventus were previously considering a £155m move for Coutinho, before deciding against it. That would have been a club-record deal for Juventus, who now look set to move on to other targets. Coutinho has gone on to score four goals in eight games this season for Liverpool.
