Champions League outfit consider Mitrovic move

Champions League outfit consider Mitrovic move Belgian side RSC Anderlecht are reportedly considering a January bid for Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. This comes according to Belgian publication Het Laatse Nieuws, who claim that the Champions League side are pondering their options as they look to strengthen at the top of the team. Mitrovic signed for Newcastle from Anderlecht in 2015 for a reported fee of around £13 million, after scoring 28 goals in 51 games for the Belgian side during the 2014-15 season. He left Anderlecht having scored 44 goals in 90 appearances for the Pro League side, but has failed to replicate the same ratio in a Newcastle shirt, scoring just 17 times in his 68 games for the Magpies so far. Mitrovic is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League this season and failed to make the 18-man squad for Newcastle’s recent defeat to Burnley, so a move could be on the cards for him as he looks to build up some form ahead of Serbia’s 2018 World Cup campaign in the summer. Manager Rafael Benitez said that Mitrovic must fight for his place in the Newcastle squad — the Magpies face Bournemouth this weekend and play Manchester United and Chelsea within the next month so he needs to be firing on all cylinders.

Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is reportedly attracting interest from the Chinese Super League.

According to a report from the Chronicle recently, the Serbian international is being courted by a number of clubs out in China, and has also been targeted by outfits in the Championship.

Mitrovic has struggled for regular game time under Rafa Benitez this season, with summer signing Joselu largely being given the nod up front.

The ex-Anderlecht striker was heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park in the summer transfer window, but a transfer never materialised.

Tottenham linked with surprise move for Tosic

Tottenham linked with surprise move for Tosic Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Besiktas full-back Dusko Tosic, according to reports from Turkey. The 32-year-old has been a consistent figure for Besiktas this season and appears to be attracting interest from clubs across Europe because of this. However, it does come as something of a surprise given the depth Spurs have at full-back, to see Turkish news outlet Fanatik cite the North London outfit with interest in Tosic. It’s claimed in the report that Spurs are prepared to cough up a fee worth in the region of €8 million for Tosic, who turns 33 next January. Spurs don’t have an abundance of experienced players in the ranks but are blessed with quality defensive options, perhaps suggesting that this report from Fanatik is wide of the mark. Tosic is predominantly a left-back, but also has the capacity to operate in central defence if required. The defender is contracted to Besiktas until the summer of 2019.

Newcastle have been keen to land a new striker for some time now, and it’s claimed that if Mitrovic is to be allowed to leave, a replacement will need to have been signed, or be waiting in the wings.

Mitrovic appears to be behind both Joselu and Dwight Gayle in the attacking pecking order at Newcastle, and could be set for a move away in the January transfer window.

Summer offers from the Premier League for Dembele confirmed .
Celtic striker Moussa Dembele had offers from two Premier League clubs in the summer, with Swansea City and West Ham United both making offers for the player, HITC quote L’Equipe in a report. After joining from Fulham last summer for the small fee of £500,000, the 21-year-old found the back of the net on 32 occasions in his dream debut season, attracting plenty of interest over the summer. According to L’Equipe, Dembele was the subject of offers from a number of Premier League sides. The report states that Brendan Rodgers’ side were forced to fend off ‘concrete interest’ from both West Ham and Swansea in August, as they managed to keep hold of their star striker. With interest from top European sides increasing, Rodgers has a big task on his hands in trying to keep hold of Dembele for a further 12 months, with Celtic preparing to receive plenty of offers in the upcoming windows.
