White truffles fetch 75,000 euros at Italian auction A lot of around 850 grammes (1.9 pounds) of white truffles was sold for 75,000 euros ($87,500) in a top Italian auction on Sunday.  The buyer from Hong Kong placed their winning bid via satellite at the World Alba White Truffles Auction at the Grinzane Cavour castle in Piedmont, northwestern Italy.

The following two games, Sweden in the semifinal and Italy in the final, were very one-sided affairs. Saudi Arabia thus became the first Asian team to reach the knock - out stage of the World Cup since North Korea in 1966.

The knock out stage resulted in a repeat of the 1970 final but this time Brazil and Italy produced a tedious match devoid of chances and for the first time, the World Cup was decided by a penalty competition. With supreme irony, Roberto Baggio

For the first time since 1958, a World Cup will be played without Italy as a participant after Giampiero Ventura’s were held to a 0-0 draw at the San Siro.

Sweden, protecting a 1-0 lead from the first lef, defended heroically and despite some questionable refereeing decisions, they managed to hold on.

Both sides will feel like they should have had two penalties but referee Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz didn’t give any of them and despite Italy dominating possession, they couldn’t find a break through.

The defeat means that Gianluigi Buffon’s international career ends prematurely and that Sweden will be competing at Russia 2018.
