Jake Livermore called into England squad

Jake Livermore called into England squad West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore originally missed out on a call-up to the England squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Germany but he’s been drafted in by Gareth Southgate after a number of players have been ruled out with injuries. Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Harry Winks have withdrawn from Southgate’s squad whilst there are still question marks over Jordan Henderson’s fitness after he missed Liverpool’s win over West Ham with an issue of his own. Livermore will be desperate to impress in the upcoming games to put himself back in the mix for a place in the World Cup squad this summer because as it stands, it looks like he’s been leapfrogged by a few younger players in Southgate’s mind. The likes of Winks and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were drafted into the recent squad ahead of Livermore, who has had a bit of a dip in form in recent weeks, so the Albion man will be keen to prove his worth to the England boss.

Tottenham linked with surprise move for Tosic .
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Besiktas full-back Dusko Tosic, according to reports from Turkey. The 32-year-old has been a consistent figure for Besiktas this season and appears to be attracting interest from clubs across Europe because of this. However, it does come as something of a surprise given the depth Spurs have at full-back, to see Turkish news outlet Fanatik cite the North London outfit with interest in Tosic. It’s claimed in the report that Spurs are prepared to cough up a fee worth in the region of €8 million for Tosic, who turns 33 next January. Spurs don’t have an abundance of experienced players in the ranks but are blessed with quality defensive options, perhaps suggesting that this report from Fanatik is wide of the mark. Tosic is predominantly a left-back, but also has the capacity to operate in central defence if required. The defender is contracted to Besiktas until the summer of 2019.
