Celtic face competition as they look to sign Patrick Twumasi

Celtic face competition as they look to sign Patrick Twumasi Celtic are interested in signing FC Astana striker Patrick Twumasi but they won’t get a free run at him, according to a report from Ghanaian outlet Kick GH. The 23-year-old has scored 44 goals in 123 games for the Kazakhstani side and Celtic have had scouts watching him, but they aren’t the only team with an eye on him. Stuttgart are in the market for a new striker too and they are also interested in the Ghanaian international and they are weighing up a possible move for him in January. Celtic first became aware of Twumasi when he scored against them in the Champions League qualifiers back in August and they’ve kept tabs on him ever since. The Bundesliga side can not offer him European football, but with competition for places strong at Celtic, he could choose to turn down a move to Celtic Park in favour of going somewhere where he’s more likely to feature in the first team on a regular basis.

Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Besiktas defender Dusko Tosic when the January transfer window opens, according to Turkish outlet Fotospor.

He has, however, also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, who are apparently willing to pay Besiktas £8m to get him.

The 32-year-old would add competition at Celtic Park for places in the centre of defence whilst he can also play at left-back too.

Celtic are said to be hoping to pay around £3m for the Serbian defender, which is £5m short of the reported amount Spurs would be willing to spend as they look to add some cover for Toby Alderweireld, who will be out until February at the earliest.

Celtic join the race for Dundee's Jack Hendry

Celtic join the race for Dundee's Jack Hendry Celtic are one of the teams interested in signing Dundee defender Jack Hendry, according to reports. The 22-year-old has been mightily impressive for Neil McCann’s side this season and is reportedly a target for a few English Premier League sides, as well at the Hoops. Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Southampton are all apparently keeping tabs on his progress as well, so if Celtic do want to sign him, they might face a bit of a battle to get him. Hendry joined Dundee from Wigan Athletic in but only did so on a short-team deal, one that now only has has 18 months left to run. Whilst Dundee would not want to let the player go, they are reportedly set to have a meeting this week to decide whether or not to cash in on him now to boost their extremely limited funds. Back in October, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will quick to praise the defender, dubbed “the next John Stones” after he performed well when his side faced Dundee. He said: “The boy Hendry at the back I thought was excellent. He’s quick and strong and is a good size. Scotland need centre halves and that looks like a good kid. He’s tall, he can run and he can pass. He looks a talent.” Celtic look set to add reinforcements to their back line in January and Hendry could be one of the men they look to bring in to help them look to secure another league win, as well as make an impact in the Europa League.

Would ex-QPR defender Dusko Tosic be Tottenham's most uninspired signing in years? HITC - 12 Nov 2017 Dusko Tosic has won successive Super Lig titles with Besiktas - but does not seem like a particularly inspired addition to Report: Besiktas surprised by Tottenham's Dusko Tosic interest .

With Tosic ,32, being in the latter part of his career, and with Besiktas having brought in a replacement in Domagoj Vida, he may wish to look elsewhere for more minutes and if that’s the case, he could prefer a move to the Scottish champions as his chances of forcing his way into the Tottenham side ahead of Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier, seem remote at best.

If Spurs have indeed made an £8m offer, Celtic would almost certainly have to up their current offer to even have a chance of signing the Serbian international.
