Schalke cool Goretzka to Bayern talk

Schalke cool Goretzka to Bayern talk Schalke's sporting director insists he has heard nothing from Leon Goretzka or the Germany midfielder's agent about joining Bayern Munich.Bayern appear to have stolen a march in the pursuit of the 22-year-old, with Marca and Sport Bild reporting on Sunday he had opted to join the Bundesliga champions ahead of Barcelona.

Schalke are in talks with Chelsea about taking Baba Rahman on loan for a second successive season. And Heidel said any move could depend on when Rahman is fit to return to action.

Baba Rahman . English Premier League Chelsea have rubbished claims by German club Schalke that their Ghana defender Baba Rahman would require a second surgery over his serious knee injury.

Chelsea and Schalke are negotiating a move for out of favour left-back Baba Rahman ahead of a potential move this month.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel revealed that discussions are ongoing between his side and the Blues, as they look to offload the defender.

“Baba has now been fully training for two weeks. We are in talks with Chelsea and the doctors of both clubs are in exchange.”

The 23-year-old has not been a success with Chelsea and has recently been recovering from a serious knee injury, which has kept him out of action since February last year.

Liverpool miss out on Goretzka to Bayern

Liverpool miss out on Goretzka to Bayern Liverpool look set to miss out on Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, as he agrees to join Bayern Munich. According to The Mirror, Goretzka has already agreed a deal – in principle – to sign for Bayern Munich Goretzka’s contract with Schalke expires at the end of the season, with Bayern set to snatch the midfielder on a free transfer. Liverpool have been heavily-linked with the midfielder over the past few months but appear to have lost the race to Bayern Munich. The German is highly-rated in the Bundesliga and has produced a number of impressive displays this season for Schalke. The report also claims that Barcelona were interested in Goretzka before he agreed to join Bayern Munich next summer. Liverpool officially completed the signing of Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton on Monday for a club-record £75m fee. The highest amount ever paid for a defender in the history of world football.

Chelsea left back Baba Rahman . German Bundesliga side Schalke has made their first move of the winter transfer window by asking Chelsea for defender Baba Rahman who has returned to first team training.

Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has confirmed the club are in talks with Chelsea over a loan move for Abdul Baba Rahman . The 23-year-old has been on the sidelines with a serious knee injury since February but has been working his way back to fitness over the last several months.

Chelsea are now well-stocked at full-back, though, and it seems as though Rahman is now surplus to Antonio Conte’s requirements at the club.

Although Rahman is stated to have impressed Conte since making his return from the injury, a loan move away is cited as likely by the Daily Mail, as Schalke continue to pursue the Ghanaian.
