The Great Britain Fed Cup team have started their 2018 campaign with a win , after defeating Portugal. Johanna Konta and Heather Watson both got through their singles rubbers, before victory in the doubles for Anna Smith and Katie Boulter made the score an unassailable 3-0.

Great Britain will find out on Tuesday who they will face in April. The rankings, which are due to be updated on Monday, will determine whether they are seeded or not.

The draw will also decide which team plays at home, something Britain have not done since 1993.
