Calciomercato report that the 21-year-old Germany international, who is under contract with Leipzig until 2020, has turned down a new deal with last season’s Bundesliga runners-up amid interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Werner recently revealed there was great interest in his services, including Chelsea who are among several Premier League clubs mentioned. “There are many top clubs in Europe: Atletico, Real and Barça in Spain, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, United and City in England.” There has been talk that PSG could make a move to sign Alvaro Morata in the summer if Roma complete a deal for Edinson Cavani, meaning Chelsea would almost certainly need to add to their attacking ranks.

Werner interested in United move RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has admitted he would love to play in the Premier League – specifically for either Manchester United or City. The Mirror reports that Werner told Sport1 he would like to test himself in England or Spain in the future. “It would be a lie to say in England you’d not like to play for Manchester United or Manchester City. Spain – Barca or Real. There are great clubs in every league. Italy or France would not be my leagues, but the other three. There are so many clubs you’d like to play for. I don’t want to tie myself down.” Werner has been a crucial figure in Leipzig’s rise in the Bundesliga, with the free-scoring striker firing them into Champions League last season. This season Werner has netted 10 times in 20 Bundesliga appearances, with Leipzig locked in a battle for second place with the likes of Schalke and Borussia Dortmund. The German has attracted plenty of interest in the past with Bayern and Real Madrid linked with moves for the forward. At the age of just 21, Werner is seen as one of the up and coming young forward. He will be hoping that he can continue his fine form and earn a place in the German national team squad this summer.

Liverpool are expected to allow West Brom loanee Daniel Sturridge to leave the club permanently in the summer which would leave them light in attack and Werner is a personal favourite of Jurgen Klopp’s.

Neither Danny Ings or Dominic Solanke have proven to be capable stand-ins for Roberto Firmino up front and Werner would give Liverpool another top-quality option in attack next season, should they be able to beat Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to his signature.
