According to Eastern Daily Press, former Norwich target Toni Leistner is available for a free transfer.

Leistner has six months left on his contract at Union Berlin, so Norwich can approach the defender over a move in the summer, but the promotion clause in his contract could confuse proceedings.

If Union Berlin get promotion to the top tier of German football, then a clause is triggered in his contract, which will keep him at the club for another 12 months.

However, they are five points of the play-off spot and 10 points behind the automatic promotion places, so they need some resurgence during the last stretch of the season if they want promotion. So Norwich could get the man which they’ve previously wanted.

West Ham to sign free agent defender Patrice Evra

West Ham to sign free agent defender Patrice Evra West Ham are to bolster their squad with the free transfer signing of former Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra, according to Paul Joyce of the Times. Twitter: West Ham are signing Patrice Evra on free transfer (@_pauljoyce) David Moyes was unable to add a defender to his squad in the January transfer window but there was always a feeling that they could sign a free agent after the window closed to plug any holes and it appears as if they are. Evra has been out of work since being released in November by Marseille following an incident with a fan which saw the France international left-back kick out at the spectator. The 36-year-old was subsequently handed a seven-month ban from UEFA club competitions but is eligible to play in domestic league matches and West Ham are expected to bring in the defender on a deal until the end of the season. Moyes worked with Evra during their time together at Manchester United. The left-back has made 273 Premier League appearances, scoring on seven occasions and picking up five title-winning medals.

De Vrij interested in United switch .
Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij is interested in a move to Manchester United this summer. According to The Mirror, De Vrij is set to leave Lazio in the summer and has his eyes set on Manchester United. The report claims that Lazio have given up on attempting to tie him down to a new contract, meaning that United would be able to sign him on a free transfer. His contract expires at the end of the season, which would allow United to sign him without having to pay Lazio a penny. De Vrij’s defensive partner from last season, Wesley Hoedt, made the switch to the Premier League with Southampton last summer and could convince his compatriot to move to England. The Mirror claim that United are following his progress closely and go as far to say they may have already made a contract offer to De Vrij in an attempt to land him for next season.
