Everton eye move for England international defender

Everton eye move for England international defender Everton are keeping tabs on Manchester United defender Luke Shaw after the player came in for yet more criticism from manager Jose Mourinho. ESPN report that the Blues will monitor the player’s situation closely as he looks set to leave Old Trafford in the summer. Shaw had fallen out of favour under Mourinho before trying to work his way back into the manager’s plans. The defender started in the club’s 2-0 home victory against Brighton in the FA Cup over the weekend, only to be hauled off at half time. Mourinho was heavily critical of the player’s performance, questioning his positioning and defensive capabilities. “Luke, in the first half, every time they came in his corridor, the cross came in and a dangerous situation was coming. I was not happy with his performance.” Shaw joined United back in 2014 for £30 million, a move that Mourinho, who was in charge of Chelsea at the time, publicly criticised. Everton have been credited with an interest in the past and the player could be on the move as United look to recoup some of the outlay spent on the defender. With Leighton Baines coming towards the end of his career, Shaw, if he gets back to his best, could be a long-term replacement for his former England teammate.

They would also be able to give the England international a pay rise to put him with top earners such as Wayne Rooney on £150,000-a-week. The Toffees have struggled to replace Romelu Lukaku since his £75m summer move To Manchester United. Everton flop Tosun could make Besiktas return in

Everton are reportedly ready to take advantage of Jack Wilshere’s contract negotiations taking longer than expected by making a move for the England midfielder, according to The Daily Mail.

Negotiations between Arsenal and Wilshere over a contract extension began in December but there has been no conclusion to this saga at this stage.

It is believed that Arsenal want to make Wilshere take a pay cut, which the player isn’t keen on, although he does wish to stay at the club.

Everton are said to be willing to offer £80,000 per week to Wilshere in order to tempt him into a move to Merseyside.

With the main contract-related stories at Arsenal focusing on Alexis Sanchez, who left for Manchester United, and Mesut Ozil who has since signed an extension at the Emirates, Wilshere has gone under the radar and he will become a free agent in the summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal at Arsenal, leaving Everton free to make a move.

It is believed that Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan are also keen on Wilshere, but he wishes to stay in England.

Everton are in contact with £7million star defender .
Everton are interested in pursuing a summer move for Saint-Étienne defender Léo Lacroix, according to a Sport Witness exclusive. Speculation in the last few days has seen the Toffees being linked with the 26-year old defender, who is on loan at Basel in his native Switzerland from the French club. Everton were said to have been impressed by his performances this season, in particular his display against Manchester City in the Champions League, and were preparing a £7million offer in the summer. Now, Sport Witness claim to have had confirmation from a source close to the player that the Blues are indeed interested and have been in contact, and that the Switzerland international would be keen on a move to Goodison Park should talks develop. However, an issue could lie in his current loan deal with Basel, with the Swiss Super League champions having an option to buy in their deal with Saint-Étienne. While the purchase clause is undisclosed, Basel could easily agree to sign Lacroix before selling him on for a sizeable profit, taking advantage of the cash rich Premier League club.
