Arsenal step up their interest in Barcelona star

Arsenal step up their interest in Barcelona star Arsenal are stepping up their interest in Barcelona youngster Robert Navarro, according to a report in The Mail. The 15-year-old has been offered a contract with the Catalan giants, which he could sign when he turns 16, but Arsenal are hoping to poach him away, like they did with Cesc Fabregas in the early 2000’s. Manchester City were also interested in Navarro but it appears like they have decided not to pursue a deal, meaning the teenager will now have a straight choice between the Gunners or Barcelona. Navarro turns 16 on April 12th, so in two days time, he will be able to officially put pen to paper on a professional contract with a club, and the Gunners are hoping that he’ll choose them. Whilst Barcelona’s academy is famous for it’s youth development, plenty of current professionals have decided to move on from the Catalan club at a young age and have succeeded elsewhere, so Navarro does have a difficult choice to make.

Monaco are fully aware of the interest in their star player – Liverpool and Barcelona are also admirers – meaning they will likely hike up his asking price. Lemar is still expected to be on the move next summer but his destination is unclear as Arsenal begin to search for alternative targets .

The agent of Barcelona star and Arsenal target Marc Bartra has claimed he is set to leave the Spanish giants this summer . The defender has been linked with a move away from Spain with several top European clubs interested .

Arsenal will face yet more competition in the race to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax this summer as Barcelona express an interest in a double deal.

Reports in Spain from Mundo Deportivo claim that the Catalan giants are interested in a swoop for both de Ligt and his Ajax team-mate Frenkie de Jong.

De Ligt is already being touted as a target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs following another impressive season in the Eredivisie.

ARSENAL are weighing up a Deadline Day swoop for Schalke's contract rebel Max Meyer, according to reports in Germany. The 22-year-old's current deal at the Veltins-Arena expires in the summer and Arsene Wenger could bring him to the Emirates in a cut-price move .

Lemar is expected to use the increased interest to command wages of up to £250,000-per-week when he does eventually move -- likely after the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Arsenal prepare summer move for Jorginho.

The La Liga leaders are looking to drastically reduce the age in their squad ahead of the new season.

The report claims that both players are aware of interest from Barcelona and will now weigh up whether or not the move has come at the right time for them in their respective careers.

Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is keen on becoming the next Arsenal boss. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal have made Enrique their number one target. The report claims that Enrique is interested in the role, although Arsenal are also considering other options. Max Allegri, Mikel Arteta, Leonardo Jardim, Julian Nagelsmann and Joachim Löw are being touted with the role. Enrique has been out of a job since he left Barcelona at the end of last season, having been at the club for three years. In his three years at Barcelona Luis Enrique won nine trophies, including three league titles and a Champions League crown. Arsene Wenger announced last week that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, with Arsenal already on the lookout for his successor. Arsenal have been criticised for their lack of success in the Premier League, with Enrique experienced in winning league titles.
