America’s Team selected Colorado State wideout Michael Gallup with the No. 81 overall pick. The Cowboys waited until the third-round to try and plug the Dez Bryant -sized hole in their receiving corps. Gallup could earn a big role right out of the gate in Dallas.

Michael Gallup is eager to make a good impression with his new team, but knows he has big shoes to fill.

As the wide receiver continues to settle in at rookie minicamp, Gallup said he's aware the departure of Dez Bryant has left a large void to fill and understands it will take some time to fill.

"Dez is a great player," Gallup said, via the Dallas Morning News. "It's hard for a rookie to come in and just replace all of the stuff that he's done here. We're out here trying to practice to be like him, obviously. But I'm not coming in here just to replace him. That's not my role yet."

Bryant, the franchise's all-time leader in touchdown catches, spent his first eight seasons with the Cowboys but remains unsigned after Dallas released him in April. The All-Pro had been linked to the Ravens earlier in the offseason before Baltimore signed former Saints wide receiver Willie Snead to a two-year deal.

Gallup, 22, was selected by the Cowboys out of Colorado State in the third round of last month's draft.
