Everton eye €30m summer swoop for international midfielder

Everton eye €30m summer swoop for international midfielder Everton reportedly head the queue for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho. Portuguese newspaper A Bola (via Sport Witness) claim that the Toffees have made Carvalho a key transfer target this summer and are likely to make an approach soon. Carvalho was the subject of a much publicised falling out between Sporting and West Ham last summer, with the Portuguese side claiming no bid was made for the player and the Hammers disagreeing. The 26-year-old defensive midfielder has made 35 appearances across all competitions for Sporting this season, scoring once and also providing an assist. Carvalho has a €45m release clause in his contract, but the club’s hierarchy would reportedly listen to offers of around €30m. With the future of manager Sam Allardyce still in question, it remains to be seen whether the club will move for Carvalho, with the English transfer window opening later this month. The midfielder would provide competition for the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Morgan Schneiderlin, Tom Davies and Wayne Rooney. West Ham could also go back in for the player, although relations between the two clubs could still be slightly frosty after the very public war of words.

Everton are reportedly taking an interest in Napoli midfielder Marko Rog. According to claims from Italy, the young Croatian is being eyed by a number of clubs and Everton are among the potential suitors. Everton eye summer swoop for Egyptian forward.

Everton are interested in signing Donis Avdijaj from FC Schalke 04 this summer, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The Bundesliga side are claimed to be ready to cut their losses with the Kosovo international, who has failed to live up to his early potential during his days in the youth system.

Avdijaj is only 21-years-old at the moment but it appears as though Schalke have lost patience with the player and are willing to allow him to seek pastures new.

The attacking midfielder could be available for a fee as low as £2.5 million, which is certainly an affordable sum for Everton and other potential suitors, such as Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United.

Avdijaj has only one year remaining on his current deal at Schalke, with Domenico Tedesco’s side now looking to cash in on the player following his lack of development in recent seasons.

Schalke finished the Bundesliga in 2nd place and evidently deem the midfielder surplus to their requirements going forward.

Everton and Tottenham to battle for midfielder .
Everton are reportedly ready to battle Tottenham Hotspur for Lille midfielder Yves Bissouma. Sky Sports write that the 21-year-old initially caught the eye of former Director of Football Steve Walsh, who left the club earlier this month. However, he fits the type of player the club are after and the Blues could still make an approach for the Mali international. Bissouma plays in the centre of midfield, in a similar role to Idrissa Gana Gueye, and has made 30 Ligue 1 appearances this campaign. The player only signed professional terms with the French club two years ago but has really progressed this season, thus attracting attention from elsewhere. Spurs are keen to sign the player as a long term replacement for Moussa Dembele, whose future with the North London club looks uncertain The 31-year-old has been continually linked with moves to China and Italy this summer, although Spurs would still want a considerable fee for the player before considering letting him leave. Bissouma is also courting interest from several European clubs, including Schalke and Monaco, so Everton will face a battle if they do decide they want to sign him.
