Moyes ready to stay put at West Ham if ambitions are matched

Moyes ready to stay put at West Ham if ambitions are matched West Ham United boss David Moyes remains keen to stay at the club if they can match his ambitions, he has confirmed in his column for the Evening Standard. The Hammers have been flirting with relegation all season but have now secured their Premier League status for next season, with plans now being made for next term. “My short-term contract expires very soon. If we can agree common goals at the end of this season I would like to stay at West Ham as I do believe we are on the right road.” Moyes joined the club in November and has come in for large amounts of criticism despite the fact that he has got the Hammers to safety. The style of football hasn’t been great this term and but the Scotsman feels that the side have the capability to compete for a place in the top half ahead of next season. There have been a number of disciplinary issues during the season, including some problems with Andy Carroll in recent weeks, but Moyes is evidently keen to put these incidents behind him and continue as the club’s manager.

The latest number three to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam, who has been an integral part of the Napoli squad since he joined from Saint-Etienne back in 2014.

However, Ghoulam has missed 31 games this season with a cruciate ligament rupture followed by a fractured kneecap. He is recovering now the season has finished and is ready to start pre-season training.

A deal to take Ghoulam to PSG had looked increasingly likely, but with United now said to be interested in the left-back he could have his head turned towards playing Premier League football.
