Everton to make managerial decision next week

Everton to make managerial decision next week Everton will make a decision on the future of Sam Allardyce next week, according to a report from The Guardian. Allardyce is expecting talks with Farhad Moshiri in the coming days, despite reports claiming that agreements have already been put in place for next season. The former England boss has already been talking up his summer plans with transfer targets being lined up, despite his future remaining up in the air. Fans have been venting their frustration towards the club over their stance with Allardyce and are being urged to make a new appointment over the summer. Marco Silva and Paulo Fonseca have both been heavily linked with the job should Allardyce leave the club at the end of the season. Allardyce was given a two-year deal when he joined the club to ease their relegation worries earlier in the season. Since arriving at Goodison Park, Allardyce has led the Toffees into the top half with an eighth-place finish looking likely.

Everton chiefs want Arsene Wenger to take over from Sam Allardyce as the next manager at Goodison Park, according to reports. Farhad Moshiri 'preparing deal' for Arsenal manager to take over at Goodison Park.

Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov is looking to sell his shares in the club and join former long-standing business partner Farhad Moshiri at Everton, according to Dutch sources.

Everton have gone through a number of changes in the last 48 hours, having first sacked manager Sam Allardyce and his coaching staff – Craig Shakespeare, Sammy Lee and Martyn Margetson.

Shortly afterwards, PSV Eindhoven sporting director Marcel Brands joined the Toffees as their new director of football, replacing former Leicester scout Steve Walsh.

Dutchman confirms move to Everton

Dutchman confirms move to Everton PSV Eindhoven have confirmed Marcel Brands has left the club to join Everton as their new director of football. The Dutchman is expected to take over the position that was held by Steve Walsh. Walsh is expected to leave his post after a terrible set of transfers, which saw Everton spend the best part of £200m on signings that were, on the whole, very disappointing over the past season. Marcel Brands has informed the supervisory board and his colleagues at PSV that he is leaving for Everton, said a statement from PSV. “The technical manager chooses for a new challenge in the Premier League after eight seasons in Eindhoven on June 1.” Brands said: “It is a very difficult decision, but I think this is a good step at the right time. The Premier League is of course a great thing. It is the biggest competition in the world in all respects. I now get the chance to do something in my own way. I am really looking forward to that.” Everton will be looking to get their manager in place and spend well this summer after what has been a disappointing season for the Merseyside club.

Meanwhile, a host of boardroom changes saw Moshiri become the club’s official majority shareholder after he bought Jon Woods’ shares, taking his ownership percentage from 49.9% to 58.9%. Former club CEO Robert Elstone also departed, with board member Denise Barrett-Baxendale replacing him.

But the club aren’t done yet, according to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf. As reported by Sport Witness, De Telegraaf claim that Everton are looking to now involve long-time friend of Brands and super-agent Mino Raiola to help move the club forward, and that move is being pushed by Moshiri and Usmanov.

Usmanov was previously rumoured to be considering joining Moshiri at Everton, which would require he sell his Arsenal shares to do so, but nothing came of it.

With majority shareholder Stan Kroenke dominating board proceedings for the Gunners, and with the American not allowing Usmanov to increase his shares, the Russian tycoon is said to be frustrated and looking to leave the club.

While proceedings are far from being complete, if indeed Usmanov does actually want to join Everton, this could be a situation worth keeping an eye on over the course of the summer.

Everton to wait for transfer business as managerial search continues .
Everton will not sign any players this summer until a new manager is appointed, according to the Liverpool Echo. New Director of Football, Marcel Brands, will arrive at the club next week and has claimed that appointing a new manager is his first priority. Former Watford boss Marco Silva is still said to be the leading candidate to replace Sam Allardyce, who was sacked earlier this month. The Dutchman has said that he wants to consult the management staff before recruiting any new signings, so he will look to bring in a new boss before any transfer activity gets underway. This is also said to be the same with the Under-23 side. This could mean that the Toffees struggle in this summer’s window, with the World Cup in Russia meaning, realistically, any transfer business may not be completed by mid-July. To make matters worse, the window shuts on 9th August. However, Brands and the new Toffees boss will look to land targets in efficient fashion, with preparations for next season well underway.
