Manchester United plot £30 million move for Joao Cancelo

Manchester United plot £30 million move for Joao Cancelo Manchester United are preparing a £30 million move for Valencia right-back Joao Cancelo, according to the Daily Mirror. Inter Milan had Cancelo on-loan last season and could yet take up the option to make the full-backs deal a permanent one. The Italian side have yet to activate that clause, which has provided Jose Mourinho with an opportunity to swoop in for the fellow Portuguese man. United are certainly in the market for a right-back with Southampton’s Cedric Soares also linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks. Any new signing would be direct competition with current first choice Antonio Valencia, who has been impressive since converting from winger to full-back. Cancelo made 28 appearances for Inter last season, scoring one goal and providing four assists, which shows he likes to get forward and create. Another surprise team linked with a move for the Valencia man are newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers, who you would expect the Red Devils would be able to beat off.

JOAO MARIO insists he is done with Inter Milan and will not be returning after his West Ham spell. The Portuguese playmaker, 25, joined the Hammers in January, with an option for a permanent deal in the contract.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Joao Mario is not ruling out a return to West Ham after insisting that he is not set to play for Inter Milan again.

Mario joined The Hammers in the January transfer window on a short-term loan deal from Inter and after an inconsistent start, he started to show his class and consistently, with great performances against Leicester, Manchester United and Everton towards the end to the season.

West Ham have also been linked with a move for PSG’s Javier Pastore, who is a very similar player to Mario. It would be likely for only one to join unless Mario’s move is another loan deal, it seems.

Manuel Pellegrini’s pick #whufc (@JacobSteinberg) Mario Husillos is the man who will look to improve the recruitment at the club ahead of a key summer for everyone associated with the London team. New first-team manager Manuel Pellegrini has chosen Husillos for this role as the club look to move forward after a poor recent run of signings, with the likes of Jose Fonte and Joe Hart both struggling at the London Stadium. The Hammers finished the season in 13th position, but it wasn’t quite as easy as that with them flirting with relegation throughout the campaign before some strong final results got them out of trouble. Husillos has performed well in roles at Malaga in past with Pellegrini which has made him the standout option for this role as Pellegrini begins to put his own stamp on West Ham.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Mario said:

“I don’t want to try again, I don’t have the necessary motivation, it’s an experience that’s over, no doubt.”

“I’m not angry, I’m taking stock of the year and a half I spent in Milan. The idea is clear: I will not go back.”

He then left a massive hint about a move back to the London Stadium when he said:

“I’m evaluating things and the Premier League would be ideal, it’s a spectacular environment; a physical and technical competition at the same time, that’s the first idea, then La Liga. West Ham could be an idea, but now it’s too early to make a judgement.”

Mario Gotze refuses to rule out a reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool .
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze has refused to rule out a future reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, the Mirror reports. The Germany international has often been linked with a switch to Anfield but no move has ever materialised, despite Klopp’s evident interest in recruiting the playmaker. Gotze, who spoke in a recent documentary dedicated to him by DAZN, admitted that he still regards linking up with Klopp in the future as ‘an option’. “I decided to leave Bayern and Jurgen Klopp was interested in getting me to Liverpool. And I was also interested in working with him again.” “It’s still existing. He is a world-class coach and that’s why it’s always an option. I decided to join Borussia Dortmund, but it was not a decision against Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp. But on the contrary.” Liverpool are well-stocked with attacking options along with midfield reinforcements, with Nabil Fekir also likely to arrive at the club despite an ongoing transfer saga. However, it seems Gotze has not yet given up hope of one day playing under Klopp again, with his time at Dortmund potentially coming to an end. Gotze, who formerly played for Bayern Munich, has struggled to rekindle his form during his younger days after encountering a number of metabolism issues, hindering his ability to play regular football at a high level. A move to Liverpool in the future could yet be on the cards, though, with a clear mutual appreciation between the player and Klopp.
