Trying to jump start his team's offense, Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant will have Tomas Tatar in the lineup Monday for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Capitals in Washington.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Tatar — acquired at the trade deadline from the Red Wings — is expected to replace David Perron, skating on Cody Eakin’s third line, though Gallant wouldn't confirm that after the morning skate.

The Golden Knights are down 2-1 in the series after suffering consecutive losses for the first time in the playoffs, leaving Gallant looking to shake things up.

“Tatar’s a goal-scorer,” Gallant told reporters. “He gives us a little more offense. He can shoot the puck and he’s excited to play.”

Tatar, 27, said he found out Sunday night that he would be in the lineup for Game 4, which is the first time for him since Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against Winnipeg. He has suited up in only six playoff games.

“It’s exciting to get the chance to play,” he said. “It’s not an easy task to come in when you haven’t played in a while. But I’m going to try and play my game and help the team win.”

Perron, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer, scored a career-high 66 points (16 goals, 50 assists) this season, but he has just one point, on an assist, in his past six playoff games.

In 20 regular-season games with the Knights, Tatar had six points and a plus/minus of minus-11. He had 28 points with the Red Wings.
