Everton keeping an eye on Toulouse star

Everton keeping an eye on Toulouse star Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on Toulouse centre-back Issa Diop. It’s claimed by L’Equipe, as translated by Sport Witness, that the Toffees have been keeping tabs on the defender in recent months. Diop has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s brightest talents, establishing himself as a key man for Toulouse. His consistency and impressive performances have attracted several clubs ahead of next season and Everton are seemingly keen. The 21-year-old’s form also earned him the role as Toulouse’s captain; an impressive feat for a player of such tender age. Everton will be desperate to bolster their defensive ranks this summer after a season of suspect performances throughout last season. Diop would undoubtedly add additional quality to the defence, so it comes as no surprise to see the Toffees linked with a move. However, they may be forced to fend off competition from elsewhere. It’s stated in the report that Crystal Palace are also attentive to Diop’s situation at Toulouse.

Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town are reportedly interested in signing Ademola Lookman from Everton in the January transfer window.

Southampton and Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Everton striker Ademola Lookman this summer.

The former Charlton forward’s future on Merseyside is currently uncertain, with a move away having been touted for a short while now.

Lookman spent the second half of last season on loan at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig after growing frustrated with the shortage of opportunities in the first-team under Sam Allardyce at Everton.

Leipzig are understood to be keen on landing Lookman permanently following his impressive stint in Germany, but they may face Premier League competition.

Midfielder to remain at Newcastle United despite interest from across Europe

Midfielder to remain at Newcastle United despite interest from across Europe Mikel Merino is reported to be staying at Newcastle United this summer, despite much interest across Europe, according to SportWitness. Merino signed for Newcastle on a season-long loan from Borussia Dortmund last summer but signed permanently for Rafa Benitez’s men in October. However, after just a year in the famous black and white, there have been reports linking him with a move away from the North East, with interest from his native Spain, as well as Germany and Italy. The Spaniard performed excellently for the Toon last season but was somewhat outshone by impressive displays from both Jonjo Shelvey and Mohamed Diame. It has been reported that La Liga sides Real Betis and Real Sociedad are interested in the midfielder, but the strongest links back home are coming from Athletico Bilbao, who were also reportedly keen on signing him in January. However, Merino is believed to feel settled with life in Newcastle and has no intentions of leaving the club.

French clubs keen on Boufal move .
A host of Ligue 1 clubs are interested in signing Southampton winger Sofiane Boufal this summer. According to Le Parisien, OGC Nice and Stade Rennais are both keen on a deal for Boufal over the coming months. The report claims that both clubs are waiting for the chance to bring Boufal back to France. This comes after a falling out with Southampton manager Mark Hughes towards the end of last season. Boufal has struggled over his two years in England, failing to live up to his price tag on the south coast. He now looks set to leave Southampton this summer and a return to France appears the likeliest route for the forward. Boufal joined Southampton from Lille in 2016, for a fee in the region of £16m – but has never been able to nail down a regular place in the starting XI. The report also claims that, despite Boufal wanting the move, Marseille are not interested.
