McAuley reveals he's had no contact over a new deal

McAuley reveals he's had no contact over a new deal Gareth McAuley has revealed that he has received no contact from West Brom with regards to whether they will offer him a new deal at the club or not. The Northern Irishman, as quoted by Sky Sports, spoke of his frustration with the past season and admitted that he is still in the dark as to if he is in Darren Moore’s plans for next season. “Obviously, I’m very frustrated, as I thought I could have helped out more than I did. It’s out of your hands if you are not playing. Ending in relegation is gutting, especially after the seven years I’ve had at the club.” West Brom will be playing their football in the Championship and it seems as though McAuley is willing to stay put if he is given assurances over his chances of playing on a regular basis. “I want to play next year. I’ve not spoken to West Brom, or no-one has been in contact with me since the end of the season. I don’t know where that sits. I haven’t been told ‘we want you there or we don’t want you’. I’m not sure what the club is thinking about me. I am absolutely fine with Darren Moore.” However, the 38-year-old is seeking clarity over his future, with no decision made by West Brom. “If I have to leave West Brom then I have to move my kids and my family anyway. It’s not particularly important to stay in the UK. Abroad would possibly interest me, but it doesn’t have to be somewhere warm or anything like that, I just want to be playing regular football.” McAuley’s contract at the Hawthorns expires at the end of next month, meaning that he’ll be able to join opposition clubs for free if he is not tied down to a new deal by West Brom.

West Brom could be set to lose Kieran Gibbs this summer, according to a report from the Mirror.

The left-back has only been at the Hawthorns for one season but it seems he could be set to seek pastures new, with the Baggies having been consigned to relegation last season.

Gibbs was recruited from Arsenal and was one of West Brom’s better performers in what was a catastrophic season as the club succumbed to the drop.

However, it seems his form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with the Mirror claiming that a host of Premier League clubs are contemplating a swoop for the England international.

Morrison could be set for Pulis reunion at Boro

Morrison could be set for Pulis reunion at Boro James Morrison has emerged as a transfer target for Middlesbrough this summer. The Northern Echo reports that Tony Pulis is keen on working with the player at the Riverside. Morrison will become a free agent at the end of the month and looks set to leave West Brom following their relegation to the second tier. The report claims that the Baggies do have the option to give him another year, but it is unclear at this stage whether or not that will happen. The 32-year-old came through the ranks at Middlesbrough before going on to join West Brom in 2007. Morrison, who was a key player under Pulis for West Brom, would provide valuable experience in the Championship. Boro will be keen to strengthen themselves after narrowly missing out on promotion to the Premier League in the play-offs. Morrison is expected to be one of the many departures with Darren Moore looking to drastically lower the average of the West Brom squad.

TONY PULIS has ruled out recruiting Kieran Gibbs - after Arsenal reportedly turned down West Brom 's £10million bid. Arsenal and England left-back Kieran Gibbs could still be set for a summer exit. But after the Baggies lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace in the Premier League Trophy Pulis said: "We

The Baggies are likely to lose several first-team players this summer with the likes of Salomon Rondon, James McClean and Jake Livermore having already been linked with exits.

Gibbs’ Premier League experience is sure to be an attractive quality to potential suitors and it seems West Brom will struggle to retain the left-back’s services beyond this summer.

Should West Brom make a move for Mitrovic? .
According to Sky Sports ‘Newcastle want £20m for Aleksandar Mitrovic’, so I pose the question, could West Brom have a chance at signing the Serbian? After an exceptional loan spell at Fulham last season, and considering his age, it is no surprise that Newcastle want £20 million for Mitrovic. Scoring 12 goals in 20 matches, the Serbian helped Fulham gain promotion to the Premier League as they beat Aston Villa 1-0 in the play off final at Wembley. With the odds very much in Fulham’s favour to get the Serbian’s signature, West Brom may, just may, have a chance in the race to sign him. Of course, Mitrovic’s first choice will definitely be a move to the Premier League but with strong rumours of Newcastle wanting Salomon Rondon, there could the chance for West Brom to work a deal. A bid of £20m would be huge for West Brom, especially as they’re now a Championship club, but a potential swap deal may just work, although Newcastle fans are mixed regarding the prospect of signing Rondon. It would be a statement of huge intent if this happened, but there is no reason why the club can’t look into it as from his form at the back end of the season, he looks a player who will only get better and better.
