According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, United are considering a move for the defender as an alternative to Alex Sandro. Sandro continues to be linked with a move away from Juventus, but reports in Italy claim the player is in talks to extend his deal with the Old Lady. Chelsea themselves have been linked with a summer swoop for Hysaj, with Maurizio Sarri expected to be announced as Antonio Conte’s successor. Hysaj is known to have a release clause in his contract with the Naples club, something Sarri could look to exploit if and when he takes over at Stamford Bridge. With Chelsea thought to be closing in on a deal for Sarri, Hysaj is not the only Napoli player being linked with a move. Long-term Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly remains a target, while Raul Albiol and Piotr Zielinski have also been discussed.

Elseid Hysaj's agent has claimed the Napoli right-back could join Chelsea should Maurizio Sarri replace Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri has been heavily linked with the FA Cup winners in recent weeks after being replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, despite overseeing Napoli's concerted Serie A title challenge in 2017-18.

Hysaj, 24, is also a reported target for Chelsea and was coached by Sarri at both Empoli and Napoli.

Speculation continues to mount that Chelsea will part with Conte in the off-season and Hysaj's agent Mario Giuffredi has suggested the Albanian's future could depend on where Sarri ends up next.

"He has a €50million release clause. I think only Premier League clubs can afford him, so his fate depends on Sarri," he told Radio CRC.

"If the Tuscan coach was to move to England, he could want him [Hysaj]. Therefore, Hysaj could follow him.

"Failing that, it would be very difficult to see Hysaj away from Napoli."

Chelsea target Hysaj may find it hard to leave Napoli .
Chelsea target and Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj would find it difficult to leave Napoli this summer. That is according to Hysaj’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, who has responded to growing speculation that his client will swap the San Paolo for Stamford Bridge this summer. Reports had suggested that if former Napoli head coach Maurizio Sarri does indeed move to Chelsea this summer like many have predicted, that the Italian would look to bring the Albania international right-back with him. But Hysaj’s agent has warned that it may not be that easy for his client to walk away from Naples. Talking to Radio Crc, as quoted by talkSPORT, Hysaj said: “Elseid at the moment is not worried about what he will do next season.” “We’ll decide the future along the way – but it will be hard to go away from Napoli.” Reports also suggest that if Sarri does succeed Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager, he won’t stop with just Hysaj from the Partenopei – he will also look to sign Raul Albiol and Piotr Zieliński. Hysaj has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in the past.
