Everton considering move for recently-relegated Bundesliga youngster

Everton considering move for recently-relegated Bundesliga youngster Everton are one of four Premier League sides considering a summer move for Hamburg’s Aaron Opoku. The Guardian reports that all four sides have been keeping close tabs on the player, who has recently rejected professional terms with the German side. The player reportedly sees his future away from the recently-relegated club and is keen on a Premier League move. Opoku, who has represented his country at youth level, is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder, but can also play out on the left. Despite Hamburg’s relegation to the 2. Bundesliga, where regular game time could be more achievable, Opoku wants the next step of his career to be in England. Because of the player’s age, clubs outside of Germany would only have to pay a small training fee for the player. Opoku is yet to make a first-team appearance for Hamburg but did feature for the club’s reserve side last season.

Everton have made their first move to sign Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi according to a report from French publication La Provence. The 22-year-old defender had signed for Aston Villa from French side Nice in the summer of 2015

Watford close to beating Everton to Serie A defender

Watford close to beating Everton to Serie A defender Watford are set to beat Everton to the signing of Bologna left-back Adam Masina, according to reports in Italy. The Toffees were linked with a move to hijack Watford’s deal to sign the player earlier on this week but it seems a transfer to Vicarage Road is on the cards for Masina. Everton boss Marco Silva is likely to keep the faith in Leighton Baines as his first-choice left-back next season but it seems the new man is after some cover in the defensive department. Masina is set to sign for Watford in the coming days for a fee worth €8 million along with additional bonuses. The defender, who started 33 Serie A matches for Bologna last season, has attracted plenty of interest in recent times and a move to the Premier League is now on the cards. Everton will be forced to look elsewhere if they are to continue pursuing added depth at left-back, with Masina seemingly Watford-bound.

The Toffees backline is an ageing one and some fresh impetus of younger players is thought to be needed.

A central defender would be the kind of player which the club would be looking to bring in with options in this department sparse.

Issa Diop to have West Ham medical on Monday .
Toulouse defender Issa Diop is expected to be in London on Monday to undergo his West Ham medical. Foot Mercato, as cited by Get French Football News claims that the player is due to travel to the capital ahead of a €25 million move. Despite late interest from Everton, the Hammers have agreed a fee with the French side, with Diop expected to become Manuel Pellegrini’s first major signing since taking over. Marco Silva was keen to bring the player to Goodison Park, but the new Everton boss appears to have missed out. The player is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the London Stadium, according to the French report. Diop will become the second defensive signing of the summer following Ryan Fredericks’ arrival from Fulham. Despite Toulouse’s struggles in Ligue 1 last season, Diop caught the eye of several teams and is one of the most highly-rated young defenders in Europe.
