Boyata's World Cup inclusion gives Rodgers Champions League worries

Boyata's World Cup inclusion gives Rodgers Champions League worries Dedryck Boyata’s inclusion in Belgium’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup this summer could give Brendan Rodgers a selection headache, ahead of Celtic’s Champions League qualification attempts. The Daily Record have reported that with the Hoops facing an eight-game qualifying process to make the group stages, Rodgers could be without some key players for the opening ties due to the World Cup in Russia. Boyata’s defensive partner Mikael Lustig will also be absent, representing Sweden, with playmaker Tom Rogic also featuring for Australia. Christian Gamboa also will be there after making the Costa Rica squad. Celtic’s first qualifier will be on the same night as one of the World Cup semi-finals, and with Belgium tipped to do well, this could affirm Boyata’s unavailability. Even if all four players exit the tournament before the group stages, they will have only a week’s rest before the qualifiers for Celtic, so will be unlikely to feature regardless.

Newcastle chasing deal for England international .
Newcastle are eyeing England international, and Chelsea midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a loan deal this summer. According to The Chronicle, Chelsea are considering letting Newcastle take a player on loan from the club for the third season in-a-row. Christian Atsu and Kenedy are both players who have joined Newcastle on loan from Chelsea, and both found success. Newcastle are now looking at Loftus-Cheek to join that list next season, with Rafa Benitez a big fan of the midfielder. Loftus-Cheek is currently away on England duty but looks set for a big decision over his future when he returns from Russia. The midfielder spent last season on loan to Crystal Palace, and impressed, in the Premier League. He will be hoping to push on next season, even if that means he moves away from Chelsea again.
