  Fulham readying bid for Southampton's Matt Targett Fulham are stepping up their interest in Southampton defender Matt Targett, according to reports. The Mirror claims that the Premier League new boys are preparing a bid to sign the player permanently following an impressive loan stint in the Championship. Following their promotion to the top flight via the play-offs, the Cottagers are looking to seal permanent deals for both Targett and Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. Both players were influential in their promotion campaign, playing key roles during the second half of the season. Targett impressed at the back for Fulham, adding some defensive stability that would bring the best out talented youngster Ryan Sessegnon, who played in front of the Southampton loanee. The defender is said to be keen on the idea of completing a permanent switch to Craven Cottage, where regular Premier League game time would appear to be more likely after falling out of favour at Southampton.

After struggling to hold down a regular place in the Arsenal squad, Chambers spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Middlesbrough, but he was unable to help them avoid an instant return to the Championship.

Apparently, the Toffees are keen on signing the former Manchester United defender but if they fail to sign him, they will look to raid Arsenal for Calum Chambers . Chambers has failed to impress at Arsenal following his move from Southampton in 2014.

Everton could move for £15m-rated Arsenal defender Calum Chambers if they fail to sign Michael Keane. Barcelona line up £60m bid for Manchester United's Anthony Martial and Fulham 's teen sensation Ryan Sessegnon is also on their radar.

Chambers made just 12 Premier League appearances for Arsenal last season and the 23-year-old will want to be securing regular first-team football at this stage of his career.

West Ham sign Ryan Fredericks on free transfer .
West Ham United have announced the signing of Ryan Fredericks from Fulham on a free transfer. Twitter: New challenge. New league. Speaking about the move, the defender told the official West Ham website that he was glad the deal had been confirmed at last. “It’s amazing for this deal to finally happen. I know we’ve been speaking about it for a while and trying to get things in place and finally, we’ve got it over the line. I’m just buzzing to be here. West Ham United is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. Everyone knows the history of West Ham and there’s a lot of factors that brought me to the club. Obviously, it’s an exciting time for West Ham. The club have just brought in a new manager in Manuel Pellegrini and everyone knows his CV and what he has done in England before and in other leagues as well. I’m sure I can learn a lot from him.” Pellegrini also spoke about Fredericks’ arrival, saying: “I am very pleased to welcome Ryan to West Ham United as our first signing this summer. He joins having had a successful season with Fulham and is a player who will bring great qualities to our squad. Ryan has good character, is hungry to succeed, and has shown me that he has great desire to be a West Ham United player. I look forward to working with him.
