Liverpool set to block Real's advances for Klopp

Liverpool set to block Real's advances for Klopp Liverpool will block any pursuit of Jurgen Klopp from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports. Los Blancos are on the hunt for a new manager following the shock confirmation of Zinedine Zidane’s resignation and a number of candidates have been touted as targets for the job. Klopp, along with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, has been linked with the hot-seat at the Bernabeu Stadium. According to Telefoot, as cited by GFFN, Real will make their move for the duo but are expected to have no luck in landing them this summer. Plans have already begun ahead of next season at Anfield, with a number of transfer targets identified. Fabinho and Naby Keita will also arrive as Klopp’s signings, with preparations well underway for the 2018/19 campaign.

Jurgen Klopp has reassessed his transfer plans and is prepared to go back into the market to solve the problems with Liverpool’s defence. Liverpool’s manager had indicated when his team were in Los Angeles that, after signing seven players, his business for the window was done

Jurgen Klopp is to reassess his goalkeeping options after conceding defeat in the chase for Roma stopper Alisson, according to the Mirror.

Reports had been circulating in Brazil, Alisson’s home country, that Liverpool had made a £60million bid for the player, but it is in fact believed that no such bid has been made as the Reds believe that such a fee is far too high.

Roma are keen to keep a hold of Alisson, especially considering they sold Mo Salah to the Reds last summer for less than £40million.

The Serie A side have put a huge price tag of £70 million on Alisson’s head and the club are insistent that they won’t sell the keeper for less than their evaluation.

Liverpool preparing world record bid for Jan Oblak

Liverpool preparing world record bid for Jan Oblak Liverpool are preparing to bid a world record fee for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, according to TalkSPORT. The Slovenian shot-stopper has plied his trade in the Spanish capital since 2014 and supposedly has an £87 million release clause built into his contract. The Reds seem to be hopeful of securing the services of the 25-year-old for a diminished price, however. With an earth-shattering £79 million bid reportedly ready to arrive at the offices of Diego Simeone, the eye-watering amount would make the previous world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper pale in comparison. The £34.7 million paid by Manchester City for Brazilian number one Ederson is the current high-water mark, but manager Jürgen Klopp is expected to surpass that in his efforts to replace Loris Karius between the sticks at Anfield. The German’s issues in the Champions League were excruciatingly familiar, and Klopp seems resigned to moving on from the former Mainz goalkeeper, despite an upturn in form for a large part of the Premier League season. Oblak has made 116 appearances in the four seasons he has spent with Los Colchoneros, and in that time has been named in the La Liga Team of the Season twice, the Champions League Squad of the Season twice, and the Europa League Squad of the Season once. With a sparkling pedigree at relatively young age, the price-tag for Oblak is set to be sky-high. Other options at the position for Klopp have been kept quiet to this point, although the club’s interest in Alisson Becker has been long-documented. Reports are circulating Tuesday that Chelsea are set to bid over £50 million for the Roma ‘keeper.

However Jurgen Klopp is said to be completely against paying such a high price for a goalkeeper and has told his board that he’s not prepared to meet Roma’s valuation.

Klopp is still desperate to sign a goalkeeper this summer with Simon Mignolet looking set to depart and Klopp wanting to demote Loris Karius after his Champions League final nightmare.

Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak had been another target for Liverpool but he is also likely to demand a high transfer fee, leaving Klopp needing to reassess the transfer market.

Bundesliga expert says Mario Gotze wants to join Liverpool .
Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze wants to move to Liverpool this summer, according to Bundesliga expert Lee Price. Speaking to the Express, Price – who has written two books on German football, including a biography on Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp – said that Gotze wants to make a move to England and that Liverpool are the team he wants to join. He said: “The German star is out of favour at Borussia Dortmund, and wants to test himself in England, plus would command a relatively modest fee in today’s hyperactive transfer market. Most Premier League clubs would take the star, but Liverpool would be his top choice, largely because of the Klopp factor – who he worked with at Dortmund.” Price also said that Klopp thinks he would be able to get the best out of Gotze again. The current Liverpool manager was the man who promoted Gotze into Borussia Dortmund’s first-team back in 2010. “Klopp thinks he can revitalise the player’s career, unearth a bargain, and add strength in depth to his squad.
