Turkish side closing in on deal for Newcastle man

Turkish side closing in on deal for Newcastle man According to Turkish news outlet Olay, new Bursaspor manager Samet Aybaba wants to reunite with Henri Saivet and is looking to sign the Newcastle outcast this summer. Saivet joined Newcastle in January 2016 from Bordeaux for just £5.4m, but he failed to live up to the minimal price-tag. This led to him being left out of the side a lot and spending loan spells at Saint-Etienne for a year in 2016 and then half a season in Sivasspor last term. Aybaba was Sivasspor manager when Saivet was on loan at the club and the midfielder impressed after a difficult start to his spell in Turkey. Now, Aybaba wants to sign Saivet permanently for Bursaspor according to Olay. It is likely that Saivet will leave St. James’ Park this summer, as Rafa Benitez looks to take Newcastle forward in his second season in the Premier League with The Magpies. There is no confirmed fee for Saivet, but it’s not too much of a loss for Newcastle, as he joined for such a little transfer fee in the first place.

Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United have been given a tough opening run for the new Premier League season.

It has been confirmed that the Magpies will start their campaign against Tottenham at home, but then face Cardiff, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Games against Fulham, Liverpool and Watford will see the club endure a busy Christmas period before Manchester United make the trip to St James’ Park on New Years’ Day.

Should the club find themselves in another relegation battle then Benitez will be slightly happier with the club’s end-of-season run-in.

In their final five games of the season, the Magpies face Leicester, Southampton, Brighton, Liverpool and Fulham. However, Benitez and many of the club’s supporters will be hoping that is not the case come that stage of the season.

As with every year, fixtures and kick-off times are all subject to change as and when the relevant games are chosen for broadcasting.

Newcastle and Southampton make approach to recruit Ligue 1 star .
Newcastle United and Southampton have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing Christopher Jullien from Toulouse this summer. According to claims from Yahoo Sport France, as cited in a report from GFFN, the Magpies have been in contact with the entourage of Jullien as they look to recruit the player. The central defender enjoyed a good season at Toulouse despite his side’s shortcomings, and it’s believed that he’d be keen to secure a move to the Premier League ahead of next season. Jullien, 25, is a physically imposing central defender who developed a strong partnership with Issa Diop at the back for Toulouse. Diop has since joined West Ham in a club-record deal. It seems the acquisition of Jullien will be plausible for Newcastle this summer, but it will not be without competition from elsewhere. Turkish giants Galatasaray have also been linked, but Southampton are understood to be the Magpies’ strongest competition for Jullien. The Saints failed to replace Virgil van Dijk in the January transfer window and are believed to be keen on adding a new central defender this summer.
