Real Madrid to make initial offer for Reds target Alisson imminently

Real Madrid to make initial offer for Reds target Alisson imminently Real Madrid will make first contact with Roma goalkeeper and Liverpool target Alisson in the next few hours, according to Sky Sports, who cite Sky Italia. Sky report that the Champions League winners will make an initial offer of £43.7million, which is way short of Roma’s £70million price tag. Real will also not bid beyond £52.4million, plus £8.4million in add-ons. Sky Italia also report that the player’s personal terms are already agreed in principle. It has been reported by a number of sites today that Liverpool hope to steal a march on Real’s plans by contacting Alisson’s representatives, but Sky believe that the Reds are unlikely to make an approach, because they will not meet Roma’s valuation. Another source reportedly told Sky Sports that Alisson is most likely to end up at Real Madrid, although they could turn to Chelsea ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois if a fee can’t be agreed. The 25-year old Brazilian, who is currently in Russia with the Brazil national team, is believed to be Liverpool’s top target to succeed Loris Karius as their new number one. However, a number of other goalkeepers are believed to be on Liverpool’s radar, including Jan Oblak and Jack Butland.

Alisson had been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with some reports going as far as suggesting a bid had been made.

However, that no longer appears to be the case with the Reds looking to alternative transfer targets.

Alisson 'content to remain at Roma' amid Liverpool links

Alisson 'content to remain at Roma' amid Liverpool links Liverpool’s chances of signing Roma goalkeeper Alisson appear to have taken a hit, with Brazil’s goalkeeping coach reiterating the player’s happiness in Italy. Claudio Tafferel spoke to the media about the Brazil international’s chances of leaving Roma this summer, with talk of a move to Liverpool continuing to build ahead of next season. Alisson has long been linked with a move to Anfield and with the Reds keen to replace Loris Karius with a new, top-class goalkeeper, the Roma star is a target for Jurgen Klopp. However, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, it seems the Reds will be hard-pressed to lure Alisson away from Roma, with Tafferel claiming that the shot-stopper is happy to stay put. “Alisson is very happy at Roma and the rumours of a transfer are just rumours. I don’t know what will happen, but he said he’d be content to remain at Roma.” Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak has also been named as a target for the Reds but it’s likely that the release clause included in his deal with the La Liga side will be enough to put Liverpool off a summer approach.

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Alisson from Roma this summer following continued talks with the player’s agent. Il Tempo, as cited by Sport Witness, claim that the player’s agent is speaking to Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid. All three clubs have been heavily linked with the Brazilian goalkeeper, who enjoyed a standout season in Rome. The report claims that no official bids have been made for the player, with Roma desperate to keep him at the club. Roma, who lost Mohamed Salah to Liverpool last summer, are digging their heels in and standing firm in their ambition to keep the player.
