Chelsea reportedly make bid for Roma's Alisson

Chelsea reportedly make bid for Roma's Alisson Chelsea have made a £52m bid to Roma for goalkeeper Alisson, according to reports in Italy. With Thibaut Courtois about to enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, speculation has been rife about where his future may lie. The Belgian has admitted that he would like to be re-united with his Madrid-based family, so a move to either Atletico or Real would suit him. It looks like Chelsea have decided to be proactive and look for a new number one and as such, they’ve made an offer to Roma for Alisson. The Brazilian number one is a reported target for both Liverpool and Real Madrid, but Chelsea look like they’ve tried to steal a march on the two Champions League finalists by making an offer. Roma are likely to reject the bid as they are holding out for bids closer to £70m, although it does look like Alisson will leave this summer as the Serie A side need to raise funds in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Alisson had been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with some reports going as far as suggesting a bid had been made.

However, that no longer appears to be the case with the Reds looking to alternative transfer targets.

Roberto Firmino says Alisson has spoke about Liverpool

Roberto Firmino says Alisson has spoke about Liverpool Roberto Firmino has said that he has spoken to fellow countryman and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson about the possibility of the Brazilian making a switch to Anfield, as per The Liverpool Echo. Alisson, along with Atleitco Madrid number one Jan Oblak, has been heavily linked to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, with Simon Mignolet wanting to leave and Loris Karius under intense pressure following his two mistakes in the UEFA Champions League final. Alisson has been very impressive for Roma, who made it to the semi-final of the competition this season, losing narrowly 7-6 to the Reds on aggregate. The Liverpool striker said recently about Alisson: “Yes, he asked me about Liverpool and I hope he can come here, but I know he has other proposals. From time to time, I will give him a pinch to come to Liverpool and help us, but it’s with his agents. It wouldn’t be bad if he came to Liverpool.” Roma are keen on not selling another player for a bargain, like they did with Mohamed Salah last summer, and are reportedly only willing to sell Alison for around £70m.

Liverpool are in the market for a new goalkeeper to replace Loris Karius, with neither Simon Mignolet or the former able to nail down the number one spot at Anfield.

Roma ready to hijack Arsenal's deal for key target .
Roma are looking to hijack Arsenal’s attempts to sign Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, according to talkSPORT, who claim that the Giallorossi want the German to replace Alisson. The Brazilian goalkeeper was one of both Roma’s and Serie A’s star men last season, and has subsequently been linked with a mega money move to either Liverpool or Real Madrid this summer. While it is not yet known where Alisson will go, it is expected that he will depart the Stadio Olimpico during this transfer window. Selling the 25-year old would leave the Italian capital outfit low on squad depth in that department, with only Łukasz Skorupski left at the club, and Leno would represent a smart move to bring in a new number one.
