The highly-rated forward has looked likely to swap the French top-flight for the Premier League this summer, having almost left in the January transfer window. With Alexis Sanchez’ future uncertain in early January, the 21-year old Brazilian appeared to be the most likely replacement for the Gunners. Paper talk had suggested Arsenal would return with a summer move for the winger, but Premium Sport, as cited by talkSPORT, claim that Tottenham and the Reds have stolen a march. Now, reports suggest that Malcom’s agent is England bound to hold talks, with the agent keen to hear both club’s thoughts before making a decision. The former Brazil Under-23’s international also has interested parties in other European leagues, with Inter Milan said to be keen. Malcom enjoyed a rather fruitful season with Bordeaux, scoring 12 goals and assisting eight in 38 appearances for Les Girondins.

Sampdoria are also noted to be in the race for Majer, but Newcastle are stated to be preparing a bid in an attempt to convince Lokomotiv to offload one of their prized assets this summer. The Serie A side were reportedly close to securing a deal for Majer, but at the 11th hour, it seems Newcastle are ready and willing to better Sampdoria’s offer worth €8m, along with a cut of 20% in any future sale. Along with a significant hike in the player’s wages, Newcastle are understood to be prepared to offer Lokomotiv an outright sum of €11.5m, which could be enough to convince the club to sell.

Agent offers Newcastle the chance to sign England star .
Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in the summer transfer window, according to Lee Ryder of the Chronicle. The 28-year-old has been told that he can leave Liverpool this summer if anyone is willing to pay the £15million asking fee and Newcastle have been contacted to see if they are interested. Rafael Benitez wanted to sign Sturridge on loan in January but the striker decided to join West Brom instead, something which Benitez has not forgotten. The Newcastle boss has other strikers above Sturridge on his list of targets but if he can’t get those players in, then he could decide to make a move for the England international. Sturridge is looking for a move to a club where he can play regular first-team football but having rejected Newcastle once before, it’s unclear if he would be willing to join the Magpies if offered the chance this summer.
