Arsenal receive huge boost in bid to sign goalkeeping target

Arsenal receive huge boost in bid to sign goalkeeping target Arsenal’s chances of signing Bernd Leno this summer have seemingly been boosted, with Bayer Leverkusen prepared to sell their goalkeeper. The Gunners have been heavily linked with a swoop for the German international, who has been an impressive player for Leverkusen over recent years. However, a whole host of clubs have been linked with moves for the player, as speculation surrounding his future in the Bundesliga continues. This talk has only been fuelled by Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director, Rudi Voller, in recent times too. As quoted by the Mirror, the German club’s chief delivered a huge update on the future of Leno. “Leno can leave but only on our terms. We are still in constant and open exchange with Bernd and his manager. Leno already had a concrete offer from Napoli in 2017, but we didn’t have an equivalent backup at the time.” “He had to stay and he did really well last season, but we thought Bernd’s desire to leave would resurface so and so with the arrival of Lukas Hradecky we have a high-quality successor.” Voller admitted that Leverkusen would be willing to sanction the sale of their number one goalkeeper, but only if a deal is agreed solely on their terms. Petr Cech has been given the number one shirt at Arsenal ahead of next season but it seems the club are on the hunt to land a new goalkeeper regardless of this, with a number of high-profile errors having been committed between the sticks last term.

Liverpool handed Strakosha transfer boost .
Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Thomas Strakosha, with Lazio set to sign his replacement. The Italian side a reportedly close to signing Olympiakos’ veteran goalkeeper Silvio Proto, with the Belgian joining Lazio on a permanent deal according to Calcio Mercato. This opens up a potential switch for Strakosha, with a €30 million price tag being put on the Albanian. Liverpool are reportedly not keen on signing Allisson, with the Brazilian’s asking price being set very high by Roma, with Lazio’s rivals demanding over €70 million for the goalkeeper. Gianluigi Donnarumma also has about the same asking price, putting Liverpool out of the race to sign the Italian. Therefore, a deal from Strakosha would be beneficial for the reds, meaning they can finally get a new keeper in and not have to break the back to sign him. Liverpool are not the only ones interested in the Albanian however, with Bayer Leverkusen looking to replace the recently departed Bernd Leno with the Lazio keeper.
