Roma send Liverpool mixed messages over potential Alisson deal

Roma send Liverpool mixed messages over potential Alisson deal Roma’s sporting director Monchi has told Liverpool that transfer target Alisson isn’t “unsellable”, but that the club are under no pressure to sell the goalkeeper this summer, the Liverpool Echo reports. The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks, with Jurgen Klopp intent on signing a keeper this summer. Real Madrid are also being linked with Alisson, who Roma want around £70million for. Monchi has spoken of the speculation surrounding the shot-stopper. “We haven’t received any offers for him.” “My thoughts on the matter are to wait until the World Cup, hoping for his and Brazil’s sake that it doesn’t come too soon for them, then he can rest and come here to train with his team-mates.” “No player in the world is unsellable. Look at Neymar and Coutinho. If an offer of 500million Euros came in for (Javier) Pastore he might be off. No team in the world could say something like that about a player.” Last summer, Liverpool secured Mo Salah from Roma for a bargain price of just £36.9million, with the Serie A side struggling to meet Financial Fair Player rules at the time. However, Monchi insists that the club are no longer in a position where they need to sell their top players. “All the talk is of sales, but Roma have only sold Nainggolan, Skorupski and Tumminello, compared to eight or nine players coming in. I’m happy with what we’ve done so far.

Roma are refusing to sell Alisson to Liverpool at any price because they feel cheated by the deal that saw Mohamed Salah join Liverpool.

As per a report from Calcio Mercato, the Serie A side are still unhappy about how the move was handled, so they are not interested in dealing with the Reds.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma last summer for a fee of just £34 million, what now looks like a bargain following the season of success the forward enjoyed.

Klopp giving up on Alisson as he sets his sights on Donnarumma

Klopp giving up on Alisson as he sets his sights on Donnarumma Jurgen Klopp is reportedly losing hope of Liverpool’s chances of signing Alisson from Roma this summer. Corriere dello Sport claims that the Reds boss is now setting his sights on Gigio Donnarumma. The report claims that Liverpool will battle Premier League rivals Chelsea for the signature of the Italian shot-stopper. Both clubs are in the market for a goalkeeper this summer, but it is believed that Chelsea are leading the race to sign Alisson. Donnarumma has been earmarked as an alternative for the Blues if they’re unable to strike a deal with Roma. It is believed that Roma are asking for near £60 million for Alisson this summer, where Milan could deal at around £50 million for Donnarumma. However, there are suggestions that their asking price could change, with the Serie A side being forced into selling key players this summer to avoid any further Financial Fair Play charges.

Roma ’s sporting director has insisted the Italian club had no option other than to sell Mohamed Salah due to Uefa’s financial-fair-play pressures. Mo Salah can challenge Ronaldo and Messi for Ballon d’Or, says Lovren. Read more.

Liverpool are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer and Alisson is believed to be Jurgen Klopp’s number one target.

There is also interest from both Real Madrid and Chelsea, who have both supposedly put contract offers on the table for the Brazilian.

The Reds have also been linked with the likes of Kasper Schmeichel, Jan Oblak and Gianluigi Donnarumma as they go in search of a replacement for Loris Karius.

Liverpool deny making bid for Roma's Alisson .
Reports from in Italy have claimed that Liverpool had made a bid of €60m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson but the Liverpool Echo say that the Reds have made no such offer. As reported by Ian Doyle, Liverpool’s stance regarding Alisson has not changed and the Reds have no plans to make an offer for the goalkeeper, despite having a long-standing interest in him. A combination of Roma’s asking price and Alisson’s preference to move to Real Madrid have seemingly led to Liverpool deciding that a push to sign the Brazilian number one would be a futile exercise. With Simon Mignolet set to depart this summer and with Loris Karius’ confidence shattered after the Champions League final, Liverpool are expected to bring in a new shot-stopper but, at this moment in time, it seems like that it won’t be Alisson. As it stands, Karius will start the season as Liverpool’s number one, but there is still time for that to chance.
