Liverpool have rejected a second loan offer from Celtic for forward Harry Wilson, according to Neil Jones of Goal.

Jones reports that Liverpool rejected another loan approach from Celtic at the weekend as they have concerns about sending him to the Scottish champions after seeing Chelsea’s Charly Musonda get very little game time whilst on loan at Celtic Park last season.

The Welshman is keen to impress Jurgen Klopp during pre-season to earn himself a place in the Liverpool squad for the upcoming campaign and with some of the Reds established stars still away due to their World Cup exploits, Wilson has every chance to catch the manager’s eye.

However, there is concrete interest in the Welshman from across the division, with Aston Villa, Leeds, Derby, Stoke, Middlesbrough, Norwich, Preston, QPR, Reading, Swansea and West Brom all taking a look at Wilson. Wilson’s future looks likely to be away from Liverpool for this season, but a move to Celtic looks dead in the water.

Wilson looks set to sign a second new contract in six months after the Reds decided to give him an improved deal after his impressive performances whilst on loan with Hull City at the end of last season.

However, it has not been decided if he will go out on loan once again or be part of the Liverpool squad next season. Either way, it looks like the Welsh international will not be at Celtic for the upcoming campaign.

Stoke make fresh bid to sign Harry Wilson on loan .
Stoke have made a last-ditch effort to try and beat Derby County to the signature of Harry Wilson. John Percy of the Telegraph confirms that the Potters have made a fresh bid to try and win the race to sign the Liverpool youngster on loan. Percy reports that as it stands, Frank Lampard’s Derby County are poised to sign the player on loan, with a host of clubs interested in a deal. There had been suggestions that Wilson would head to Stoke on loan as part of the deal that saw the Reds sign Xherdan Shaqiri, but Lampard held talks with the player over the weekend. The Potters remain keen to sign a Liverpool player on loan as part of the Shaqiri deal, but it is yet to be seen if that will be Wilson. The player recently returned to Liverpool as part of their pre-season preparations and has impressed in their opening friendlies.
