Chelsea have stolen the march on Manchester City to complete a deal for the Italian midfielder.

Chelsea sign Jorginho from Napoli

Chelsea sign Jorginho from Napoli Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Italian international Jorginho from Napoli for a fee that is believed to be close to £57 million. As per the club’s official website, Jorginho joins the club on a five-year deal after a highly-impressive season in Naples. The fee is believed to be around £50 million up front and a further £7 million in bonuses. The player had been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with Manchester City reportedly agreeing personal terms with the player. City boss Pep Guardiola was a known admirer and wanted him to anchor his midfield next season, but Chelsea stole the march and completed the deal. The deal to bring Sarri to Stamford Bridge is believed to be included in the negotiations of the Jorginho move. Chelsea have reportedly offered Napoli more than Manchester City for Jorginho, with some of the fee seen as a makeweight in the deal for Sarri. The deal to sign Jorginho is expected to kick-start Chelsea’s summer transfer business, with Daniele Rugani expected to follow from Juventus.
