NEW DELHI: The BJP on Monday rejected as "baseless" reports that ailing Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar is being flown to the US for medical treatment . " CM Manohar Parrikar is undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital and is responding to it.

After advice of doctors at Lilavati hospital, Goa CM Manohar Parrikar has left for USA to take further treatment. Late night on March 6 Parrikar left to USA from Mumbai.

Parrikar was admitted again in Mumbai's Lilavati hospital for checkup where doctor who was treating him gave advise to shift to abroad for advance treatment.

According to sources within CMO, Parrikar was escorted with a team of doctors as the travel time to USA from Mumbai is around 22 hours.

In the absence of Parrikar, a '3 minister group' will take all decisions. Minister Sudin Dhavlikar, Vijai Sardesai and Francis D'Souza will be part of the '3 minster group'. Parrikar will be taking review of all work via Video conferencing with this '3 minister group'.

Goa Deputy Speaker and BJP MLA Michael Lobo on Monday said that the chief minister Manohar Parrikar , who is currently undergoing treatment at Mumbai hospital can be even shifted to US hospital, 'if needed'.

According to sources within Goa CMO, in his absence Parrikar has given permission to all his ministers to spend Rs 50 lakh for developmental work.

Parrikar was shifted to Mumbai so Lilavati Hospital on February 15 on the complaint of pain in stomach. He was admitted in Goa Medical College for food poisoning before that. Now, on the advise of Lilavati Hospital doctors he has been shifted to USA for advance treatment.

Before coming to Mumbai, Parrikar posted an emotional video message on social networking website where he thanked the people of Goa for praying for him to recover fast. He also requested them to grant him a small leave for his medical treatment for which he had to travel abroad.
