  Community 'shocked' by sudden death of young Irish footballer The Beechmount community in West Belfast has been left "shocked and saddened" by the sudden death of James Moore .In his early 20s, it is understood the Willowbank player passed away at his home in the Beechmount area just after 10pm on Friday night.A spokesperson for Beechmount Residents Collective told Belfast Live, James "was a great role model for kids at Willowbank YC/ FC and a great team captain"."He was a great neighbour who will be sadly missed by all who knew him," they added."James was a lovely fella who had time for everyone and a smile for all.

The Beechmount community in West Belfast has been left "shocked and saddened" by the sudden death of James Moore.

In his early 20s, it is understood the Willowbank player passed away at his home in the Beechmount area just after 10pm on Friday night.

A spokesperson for Beechmount Residents Collective told Belfast Live, James "was a great role model for kids at Willowbank YC/ FC and a great team captain".

"He was a great neighbour who will be sadly missed by all who knew him," they added.

"James was a lovely fella who had time for everyone and a smile for all."

Tributes have also flooded social media pages in memory of the "incredible fella".

One from St Paul's Football Club said: "Beechmount will be a darker place this morning with the passing of young James Moore. An incredible fella with an incredible talent and passion for everything football.

"His Granda Seando was the biggest legend to ever come out of our area, James will be in his arms now. Sincere condolences to his mother Francine and the Moore family.

"And everyone associated with Willowbank Football Club."

A statement from said: "It's with great sorrow that we learn of the passing of James Moore.

"James was a fantastic person and an inspiration for kids in the Beechmount area, he enjoyed spending countless hours at his beloved Willowbank, had many, many friends and was a pleasure to know.

A friend who met him through football channels said: "Just heard the terrible news... Young James Moore sadly passed away.

"Met him when he joined Larne FC a few years back and instantly found him a real likeable lad.

"He was lately involved with Willowbank FC both playing and coaching the youngsters. My condolences to his family. A really lovely lad."
