Pat and Ann Kerley, a married couple in their fifties, were out walking last Friday night around 8pm when a swarm of bees emerged from a bush along the inner relief road in the town.

"We were walking past bushes and I got stung, I lifted up my t-shirt and a bee flew out. Just as I turned to wife a swarm of them came out of the bushes and we were covered in them. I've never seen anything like it other than on the TV," Pat told Independent.ie.
