  Gardaí searching for missing man (71) release CCTV images Gardaí searching for an elderly man missing from the south Dublin area have issued CCTV images in the hope of tracing his whereabouts. Brendan Burke (71) is missing from Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, since November 15. He is missing from the Bloomfield Care Centre and was last seen at 4.17pm on the 15th outside the Permanent TSB in Rathmines. Gardaí have released CCTV stills from the Permanent TSB in the hope that this will encourage people who were in the area and who may have seen him to come forward.An analysis of phone records also show that Mr Burke was in the city centre at around 8pm on that evening.

One man in his late 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí have seized drugs and arrested one man in an operation in Dublin on 5th December 2017.

"On the 5th December 2017 members from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau assisted by the Special Crime Task Force investigating serious organised criminal activity in West Dublin searched an industrial unit in Newcastle, Co. Dublin where they seized approximately €1.6 million worth of Cannabis Herb.

"One man in his late 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. The investigation is on-going."

Garda investigate Hutch/Kinahan feud link to discovery of body of young man in field .
GARDAI are investigating if there is a link between the ongoing Hutch/Kinahan feud to the discovery of the body of a young man in a field. The grim discovery was made at approximately midday today.Gardai have now confirmed the man's body was found in a field at Walterstown, Dunboyne near the Meath/Kildare border.It is understood that investigating officers are treating the discovery as suspicious, with early indications that the man has sustained gunshot wounds to the head.However, the state pathologist will be required to establish the cause of death.
